Finally had the procedure done by Dr. Eid this morning after five years of struggling. Just laying on the hotel bed now with a lot of ice. So far, just a bit of discomfort, mostly from where the catheter exits. Really looking forward to Monday to get the catheter out and see the results. I think Dr. Eid told me what I got while in recovery, but I was so out of it I don't remember. I can tell that things are certainly different down there. I may update this as things progress.
Thanks to everybody here for all the good information and making this decision and experience much smoother.

You bet. Since I followed your surgery by Dr. Eid by about a month, I'll just give my impressions and if anything significantly differs from your experience.
Day 0 follow-up: Everything at the hospital went very smoothly - I was Eid's first patient of the day. The entire staff was wonderful and helpful. After all the prep, I got wheeled into the very cold OR and sat sideways on the table. The anesthesiologist described what was about to happen as he hooked up the IV and oxygen canula, told me to sit up straight until he was ready to proceed, and I don't remember anything else until the recovery room. I think Dr. Eid talked to me there, but I don't recall it at all. Left the hospital uneventfully and returned to the hotel. Took a Percocet as recommended before bed in case the spinal anesthesia wore off. Kind of a fitful nights sleep, but not that bad.
Day 1: No real pain at all so far. Just a lot of uncomfortableness from the catheter and from all the dressing packed under the jockstrap. Just a little bit of an ache from the reservoir area, but that is only when getting up or moving around. Overall, I'm amazed that I'm really not having any pain issues, and haven't even taken a Tylenol today. Hope it stays this way. One thing I noticed last night after the surgery that surprised me was that I felt my balls moving up and down, like they normally do with that tingling feeling. Slowly moving up and down completely normally with the extra friend packed in there with them. I guess that's a good thing! I have an appointment to get the catheter out on Monday, and that will be the first time I see what's down there and get to try it out. Can't wait! Until then, just staying in bed as much as possible and keep things on ice.
Thank you all again and I'll update as neded.

You are scheduled with Dr. Eid? Just follow his preop protocol to the letter. I also used a VED for 30 minutes/day for the last few months to keep the tissues healthy since I stopped doing injections. Dr. Eid and his whole team are wonderful. I wish you the best!

I'll update as soon as I know what I was implanted with. If I was told in recovery, I have no recollection. My appointment is tomorrow (4/28) to get the wrapping removed and I should find out then and see about starting to cycle. I haven't even been able to see the results yet.

Day 3 Update:
Had the catheter removed at the day-3 follow-up appointment, and Tim removed all the dressings and said everything looked great. No swelling, no scrotal bruising, just a little bruising on the shaft and glans. I'm surprised there isn't more bruising based on Dr. Eid's comments when he came into the room. I had reminded him of probable fibrosis towards the glans before the surgery, and wanted to make sure he still sized appropriately. Apparently, the fibrosis was a bit more of an issue during surgery than expected and Dr. Eid told me he went through two implants before the third one was fitting all the way in! So, he scrapped a 20cm and a 22cm before going with a 24cm. I recall him telling me during my first telehealth visit that he is willing to toss an implant and take the loss in order to get it right for the patient. He wasn't joking.
I did almost pass out when he showed me how to deflate and squeezed that shaft like it was in a vice. He must have developed tremendous grip strength through the years, because that was unbelievable.
I haven't posted any photos before, so maybe now is the time. Here is the evening of Day 3, after the office visit, in the warm bath, deflated, showing the sutures. No swelling or bruising.
Here is the first attempt at full inflation:
So far, so good.
Day 5: I think I finally figured out how to get all of the fluid out of the cylinders this morning in the hot bath. I'd been having a difficult time, and it always seemed really full and painful. I really don't know if I did anything differently, but just pressed into the deflate bars as much as I could while squeezing things out. The pain went away after that. But it seems to fill up somewhat again later. Am I not reseating the vale correctly? When I can get most of the fluid out, it's not too painful, but then things get uncomfortable again after a few hours. I'll keep experimenting.

Nice. Everyone says Dr. Eid is one of the best. To toss 2 implants to size you the best is so awesome.
