The imperfect implant
Re: The imperfect implant
Nocturne is right, and some perspective is a good thing. It's difficult for healthy men to internalize this, but ED is way down the list of things that can go wrong with you. I've survived a stroke, aortic valve replacement, a heart attack, and diabetes, to name a few. I was able to treat the ED with an implant, but the other stuff ended my sex life regardless. But I'm still vertical, and life marches on acceptably, if not joyously.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.
Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is.

I had one doctor not the one I am using, that told me that the head has a different blood source that the shaft and it should continue getting aroused.

Also, Don't they pump it up before closing the incision? To see what it looks like and if the cylinders go all the way into the head?

Re: The imperfect implant
I thank God every time I make love to my wife (and she does to). So far I have had no complications from my implant and no lost length. Whether use of RTEs is good or not only time will tell. Everything is great and I couldn't be more pleased.

Search floppy head on this forum. It's all about the placement of the cylinders and the skill of the surgeon.

Dude you are not reading my post. I understand that and know all about it. My question is after placement the doctor pumps the implant up forms it. why wouldn't he notice then that there is a floppy head and change the size of the implant? Just for the record I am sure that the big 3 have no problems with this. But for us guys that the big 3 are not an option. I am trying to get questions to ask my doctor.

Re: The imperfect implant
My mistake. You would have to ask your doctor if he pumps it up to see at the end of surgery. Obviously some doctors don't because it happens.

That is a good question to ask then. I know he did tell me he would have the company rep. would be there with several implant sizes. I am curious about this AMS all my research shows that they only go up to 18cm which cant be right. I guess it doesn't mater, I have about decided I am going with the Coloplast. Would be good for others like me trying to decide.

Re: The imperfect implant
Tybeeman, You would think that they would notice that the tips do not reach the end of the penis. My 1st implant was done by a highly recommended Urologist in Houston and the tips did not even go into the head and they pushed out against the side of the penis below the head. When Dr Kramer repaired this botched job, he removed a 18cm +3rte AMS CX and replaced it with at 21cm +3 1/2rte AMS LGX, and re-positioned the tips to a more correct location. The glans is now supported much better. I am much more satisfied with the revision than previously.

born 1949, Cancer 2014, 1st Implant AMS CX 18 + 3 RTE, Oct 2015 by a Houston Doctor. Left with loss of length, Floppy Glans and pain, a very poor job. Revision in Dec 2016 by Dr. Kramer, 21 + 3 1/2 RTEs, LGX, Regained length, Glans supported and no pain.
Re: The imperfect implant
Somebody mentioned the company rep. Dr. Caesar told me he never does an implant without the company rep and his suitcase right there. He also made it quite obvious that he had tested the implant and how it worked before he glued me back together. He told my wife it "stood right up there very well."
He was right. Tips are right in the middle of the glans, and nothing floppy about any of this baby.
For the hundredth time, this also goes to selection of the surgeon. You HAVE TO get that right, or you are playing Russian roulette with Mr. Joyful.
