Push for a revision now or wait?

Postby vey999 » Tue Dec 27, 2016 6:50 pm

I'm two weeks out now and fear that I need a revision.

The pump will not "pull down" and a testicle is trapped behind it on the right side.

First thing the doctor told me the day after he did an infra-public, was to "pull down" but I can't. Bet I can do is to 4 r more fingers and push down.

Swelling has gone down, bruising gone, but the pump is in the wrong place. What should I do?

2 weeks is still very early. Are you cleared by your surgeon to take a bath yet? If so try taking two hot baths a day and pull down on the pump then. Give it some time. Hopefully it will settle into place. Good luck to you.

No baths allowed yet. 8 days from now is another check. I doubt it will improve, but I will wait and see.

I had my surgery done by the most popular surgeon on this board and one that is widely acclaimed. He is scrotal, not infra-public. Nevertheless I ended up with my pump too high and off to the left side. He said it would be OK but it's not. He did suggest I pull down daily and that it could settle in lower over time.

It never dropped at all and I'm having a revision tomorrow morning. It is still too high and is in the way. And the tubes are too high and on the left side of my dick.

I hope yours does adjust. Best to you.

2 weeks is much too early. I am 14 wks post surgery, and the Titan bulb with attached deflate button is also not ideally placed. Originally, it was stuck high/left in the scrotum but over time it generally made its way down to where it should be. It is still unstable and shifts all over the place but I can easily access the inflation bulb to make it work. The deflate button is a little harder to grab but I can also make it work
Advice to pull down is still good, but you have to be patient. My doc told me I had severe scrotal edema and hematoma which will take a very long time to heal. It is my own stuff getting in the way of the downward path.
Recovery still not 100% but it is getting there. Meanwhile, the Titan bulb/button is working without a hitch even though proper stable placement could be better.
Hang in there!

Tomorrow it will be three weeks. Pump hasn't budged a bit. Trapped testicle has lost feeling.

The reason I was thinking about pushing for a revision now instead of waiting 7 or more weeks was because I have a job where I need to lift things weighing 40-50#s occasionally. I'm self employed, and I can hire a temporary helper, but it costs me. I have contractual duties to meet and the bids were made years ago before any of this came up.

Make me wait 10 more weeks and put me out of action for another 6 weeks after the revision and that will put a financial hurt on me.

I sure hope you can get things worked out. It sux when it doesn't come out perfectly, doesn't it.

Please keep us posted on how the revision works out. All the gritty details, please.
I suspect my "sometimes mistaken, but never in doubt" surgeon will try and blame me.
