Less than 2 weeks away from surgery 21st...
What would any of you do differently for preparation and post-op to help with the healing and also to help with the cycling that's eventually going to need to take place?! I guess my mind is racing thinking I could have done ved therapy which I never tried to help with stretching not to add length but to keep what I have.

Re: What would you do differently (pre surgery)
I've been putting a lot of effort into making sure that pre-operation preparation happens for me. From what I have read, two weeks is not too late to start. Six weeks is better than two
Vitamin E is said to reduce the formation of scar tissue so I might suggest starting in the course of oral Vitamin E, with the knowledge of my surgeon, of course. Scar tissue encapsulating the reservoir or the implant expanding tubes is, I guess, the most painful part of early use of the implant.

Re: What would you do differently (pre surgery)
As far as scar tissue goes, I asked my doctor and he said "People in the old days would leave them deflated for 3 to 6 months because the surgery was so traumatic and recovery time was huge. You wouldn't develop scar tissue that could limit girth until many many months down the road."
62 years old. ED for years. High BP and meds have done me in. AMS 700 CX /3.0 cm RTE Implanted by Andrew Kramer on 10/12/16. Involved revision to relocate tubes and pump performed 12/29/16 by Dr. Knoll of Nashville, TN.
Re: What would you do differently (pre surgery)
Whatever I did or didn't, here are a few things worth thinking of:
Stay healthy. Get as much sleep as you can, eat healthy, skip the drinking. Stay strong, and healthy, keep you immune defence system at its peak.
Avoid anything blood thinning (unless of course there is a medical reason you need it). Avoiding it will reduce bleeding during surgery and hence swelling. A lot of things are blood thinning which you may not think of. Omega-3 supplements for example.
Follow the doc's order to the extreme. If he says use this antibacterial soap x times per day, then do it. X times per day.
Be prepared for a huge variation of the post-op pain and the recovery time. Don't make plans which requires you to drive a full day two days after surgery. If you're lucky it works, if you're unlucky it won't work.
And to add to the previous one, I think that no matter how well you feel afterwards, pushing it is only bad. Take it easy, get your rest, don't push it.
Ask your doc rather one question too many than one too few. Make sure you know what to do in terms of both pre-op preparations and post-op recovery.
Learn all you can. Read all you can. Talk to people who have done it if possible. And don't be afraid to question your doc if it doesn't feel right. He should be able to explain his actions to you. This forum has shown a few cases where people thought something felt wrong in the process up to the surgery, but didn't act on that feeling. And then ended up with a shitty result.
Get all the stuff you can possibly need. Pain killers of course, ice bags (frozen peas or whatever you want to use), proper underwear (this is a bigger issue than you can imagine), a fridge full of healthy food, etc.
Have a plan for what you tell your friends, family etc. I think most people here will not tell their neighbours and colleagues that they just had a dick implant surgery, but rather save the truth for a close circle of relatives. If you're going to have an official story, have one that works.
Keep your expectations reasonable. You will get two pieces of plastics in your dick, and a pump to inflate them in your scrotum. With them you can make your dick hard. It will probably not fix your marriage, your career, or even turn you into a super lover. You will get an erection when you want, but all else you will have to put work into yourself.
And the length... Since there are plenty of people here dissatisfied with the length after surgery, it means either there are a lot of shitty doctors out there, or people have the wrong expectations. If you haven't had a proper erection for years, there is no meaning to expect that you will have an erect penis with the same length as ten years ago. A better expectation is probably to get the same length as you have with a stretch test today.
Your glans. If you for some reason have no blood flow at all to your glans today, you most likely won't have it with an implant either. You will have a hard shaft, but the implant won't fill up your glans. In this case, your shaft will be to some degree oval as well. Know this, but also know that this is still zillion times better than no erection at all.
After surgery, don't freak out for everything. I was cycling the implant after 13 days and having sex after 20 days, so in that sense one can think I had a quick recovery. But I had terrible pain for the first 2-3 weeks, and even though I was back to a normal life after a month, it still took me 4-6 months before I could say that all healing and progress was 100% completed. It's a slow process.

Re: What would you do differently (pre surgery)
I had my Titan Coloplast implanted 2 years ago. I absolutely love it - but I had a tough recovery. I hate to say it - but if I was doing it again I would not have it put in via a cut in my scrotum. My testicals and the healing of my scrotum caused me extreme discomfot for many weeks after. ( all very worth it). I would go to Dr. Perito in Miami as he does not cut the scrotum - rather he goes in above the pubic bone. He goes in from the top rather than from the bottom. Check this link http://www.peritourology.com/
Good luck!!!

Here is a study you might find interesting, as it documents that days or weeks rather than months are significant in the formation of scar tissue limiting ultimate size of the erect (implanted) penis.
Inflatable implants have only been around for a relatively short time and there is still research being done and lessons learned.
The first two are links to abstracts of the article. The third link (should, I think) download the entire article.

The amount of residual post-op inflation and the date of first inflation (and the protocol of inflation exercises) seem to be major factors. Pre-op elasticity is, also, but that is another question.
