I got my implant done at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, the largest military hospital in the nation. I probably could have gotten a referral to go to an implant doctor in San Antonio or Houston who did more implants but I felt comfortable with my doctor who was an Army Major Urologist.
Thank,

I used private insurance. My wife & kids have had great success with TriCare, so I can’t complain too much. But you know how it is, we’ve basically tortured our bodies for decades in the military, so I have to go to the dr way more than they do. I was always in combat arms mos’s in the Army, so my body’s beat down from carrying heavy stuff for long distances & jumping out of planes with an extra 100+lbs of gear weighing me down as I hit the ground. Sometimes I felt like a literal lawn-dart. After being enlisted for 15yrs, I commissioned, hoping that’d decrease the wear & tear, but it was actually way more demanding than I thought it’d be. I’ve always been enlisted at-heart, so I couldn’t help it…I continued to get in the dirt with the boys and keep paying my physical dues. Currently i work on the civilian side of defense and they have good insurance options, so I pay a small price for blue cross. I’m sure I could have gone through the VA, but private healthcare has had its perks. I only paid about $1500 total after it went through insurance so it wasn’t bad at all. Hakky got me into the surgical room 1 week after I decided that going bionic was the route I needed to take.
It’s great to hear that you had success with the military healthcare system. If you’re gonna have it done by them, San Antonio is definitely the place to go, so I think you made a “rock solid” move in that regard.
I'm sorry about all your body has went through with your service in the Army. I didn't have to do all the things you did to serve our country, I was in Air Force Civil Engineering where we would use AM2 matting to repair runways after attacks, that's what they used back in the day when I was active to fix bomb craters. It wasn't my main job although we did it a lot, my main job was HVAC, Controls, Intrusion Alarms and Fire Alarm systems.
Back to military health care, I go to the VA for some things but the important things for my body, no way would I go to the VA. Thankfully, I can still go see some specialty docs (orthopedics, urology and dermatology) at active bases, BAMC and Lackland because I was seeing them before I turned 65.
Dprimal, keep getting better on your Bionic Dick Journey. I'm glad I went Bionic and it is pretty amazing down the road as sex gets way better than where you are now.
