Feedback on Dr Kramer today (based in Cape Cod MA)

I am considering having a penile implant surgery done by
Dr Andrew Kramer.

His reputation is strong as one of the best surgeons
for this surgery and appears to be a "high volume" surgeon.

What I am hoping to get from this audience is their
personal experiences with Dr Kramer. Not rumors but
real, personal experiences with inflatable implant surgery
with Dr Andrew Kramer now located in Cape Code MA.

(1) How long has it been since your surgery?
(Years, months, weeks?)

(2) Was the surgery done as you hoped?

(3) How long ago did you have this surgery?

(4) Did you have any post surgical complications or infections?

(5) Did you have any device mechanical problems? (i.e. not the
physicians fault but still would be interesting to know.)

(6) Have you had to do any revision surgery after Kramer's work?

(7) How was your pain management? -
General Anesthesia during surgery right, I assume.
Then icing post surgery and perhaps tylenol.
When were you "pain free". etc.

(8) Are you happy with the penile implant choice that Dr Kramer
made for you? - (AMS CX, AMX LGX). And length he gave you?

(9) Do you have any "wobble" problem with the implant now?

(10) Did Dr Kramer use any RTEs? Or keep RTEs to a minimum
presumably to keep this feared wobble problem away?

(11) Did you do your job cycling as soon as you could?
When did you start? Did this help prevent erosion or
did it still occur for some reason....

(12) Do you seem to have good blood flow to your Glans?

In summary, I hope you are very satisfied with your
experience with Dr Kramer. Please tell me the good,
the bad and the ugly here.... although I am hoping that

Had it done 14months ago
Surgery wasn't what I expected
No post surgery complications other than the cylinders weren't probably placed
No problem with pain and happy with Device choice 700cx 2cm Rte
I have a flobby head with distal extrusion of cylinder on right side.
I did my job of recycling after implant with minimum blood flow to glance.
I'm scheduled for a revision of Dr Kramers work but won't let him to the revision he only gets one chance to do it right and he didn't. Nice Doctor but I feel that he did not do what he promised to do.I DONT RECOMMEND HIM ALL I HAVE TO SAY GOOD LUCK!!!!

Was your surgery with Kramer your first implant, or was it a revision of work done by another surgeon?

First implant was done 2015 by another surgeon that since retired. Dr Kramer did not place cylinder on the right side up into the glan and even acknowledged as much.I traveled to cape cod, MA had to get plane tickets hotel room and rent a car. I expected the surgery to be revised right in which he didn't. Others maybe happy with him but I wasn't and don't recommend him.

I’m wondering, are you a surgeon? Curious as to how you’ve assessed what is tricky about implant surgery?

I also wonder how you’ve assessed Kramer’s video’s as sloppy? Are you inferring he’s a sloppy surgeon or a sloppy video maker? I suspect now that you must not only have surgeon training, but also video production training.

Last, I’m a recent patient and he never pushed the LGX model on me and instead said he will choose the best AMS implant that my particular anatomy calls for.

I believe Kramer is an excellent surgeon and my outcome and recovery has gone great. Not yet 4 weeks post op, I’m pain free and I’ve already begun lite cycling with minimal discomfort.

I also believe he’s a very good surgeon from the following perspective:

I spent my entire 40+ year career in surgical devices in the capacity of sales, marketing, product development and executive leadership. I worked closely with surgeons of all kinds, including urologists, and spent many hours supporting and working with them in operating rooms. Kramer, and the surgery dept at Cape Cod Hospital are excellent providers.

No not a surgeon. Just curiosity and penchant for digging up information and learning.

Note I didn't say implant surgery is tricky. Rather I stated a LGX implantation is more tricky just because of the mere fact the it expands in length by ~3cm. You pick too big of a size and chance of erosion or perforation, too small and you're undersized and/or floppy glans. This is one of the reasons I won't pick an LGX when I get my implant. Pretty simple analysis.

On Kramer's sloppy technique, just watch enough penile implant surgeries and it is quite apparent to me. That is just my perception and you're totally free to arrive at your own conclusion.

I sense a hint of sarcasm in your comment about me being a video production expert. So I'll choose to ignore pointless sarcasm. But if you want you're free to assume I'm the world's best penile implant surgeon and video production expert with a 40+ year successful career and with many oscars in penile implant surgery videos.

The main point is I don't like Kramer as a surgeon and sticking to that opinion with good reasons based on my research. I'm glad you have had an excellent experience with him. So be happy and go live your life and be merry. As they say to each his own.

Sambalamba, i would say quite the opposite. The LGX is more forgiving in terms of sizing because of it's expansion. If the doctor undersizes you by mistake he can always compensate by having the LGX expand. That risk of erosion thing is not a real factor in practice. There is no study that says the lgx has higher erosion than any other implant. And most doctors will not measure -3cm, they will put the full size and let the LGX expand 3cm extra over the months/years to give additional length.
