Hello guys
I had my Coloplast Titan implant surgery 10 days ago. The first few days were tough as I had recurring fever so I was kept in hospital for 6 days and got extra dose of IV antibiotics. Now I do not have fewer any more but my temperature is still higher than usually.
I have been at home for 4 days, still taking oral antibiotics. I am partially inflated (around 25%) My checkup is next Thursday, that is when the stitches will be removed.
I have noticed a few things and want to ask you guys if those are normal during healing.
1. Big hematoma on shaft since day 1. I guess some blood vessels where hit during surgery. Is it normal that it is still there at day 10?
2. I have a small bending on the right side of my shaft. That area is really sensitive and under the thin layer of skin the right cylinder can be felt more (as if there was right under the skin). I hope it is not an early sign of erosion but there is definitely some assimetry.
3. I had cathether for 2 days, that was by far the most painful. When I pee I still feel some discomfort, and also sometimes some pain in the urethra. Also a stronge urge to go to pee quickly. I had a TON of antibiotics so I don't think there is any UTI.
4. By now I have zero pain at scrotum and the swelling decreased dramatically. So the pain I have is in the shaft, where the cylinders were placed) and sometimes in the urethra. Bending, placing in underwear is still very uncumfortable.

Welcome to the bionic boys club Coldfingers

That looks really good man

I also have some slight asymmetric bending, to the right, from the base of my shaft, which I'm sure I've always had but it's been exacerbated by the implant procedure.
I hate catheters and had discomfort for at least a week after it came out.
If you already have zero scrotal pain you're doing better than I did at that point. I've only just overcome most of it in the last week or so since I was activated at 6 weeks. I was also left partially inflated to a similar level for that period, and had pain/soreness along the shaft. Also centre right and base of my scrotum, where my pump and tubing now live. I still get some shaft pain and soreness along the cylinders etc but now it's mostly from cycling the implant.
Now that I'm flaccid most of the time, much of the persistent discomfort has gone. But it comes back temporarily when you start cycling. Cycling I'm finding is an exercise in masochism, but you do have control over how much discomfort you're prepared to tolerate. And the deflate button is always on standby.
Yes it's very hard to find a comfortable place to put a sore, erect dick in underwear. I found pointing it straight up worked best for me using tight but stretchy briefs.
I'm not sure you could get erosion this early but someone else may like to comment on that.
70 y.o. married from Sydney Oz. PC and nerve sparing RRP 2022, but still profound ED since. Tried pills, injections, shockwave therapy, VED. Finally implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal.
Now dealing with recovery.

Coldfingers, welcome to the bionic brotherhood ! I'm almost 4 months post-op and still have some remaining hematoma. It has continually dissolved and I look forward to it being gone. It was so large that it blocked access to the deflate button and caused so much discomfort that I couldn't start cycling until almost 8 weeks post-op. So I don't know how normal that is, but having some less than 2 weeks post-op definitely isn't as bad as it could be

Welcome to the club!
1. Hematomas are normal. Its normal for them to take up to several weeks to clear - it's just bruising and will clear - eventually.
2. Don't fret on the bending. I had similar issues, and they do work themselves out. Your body is adjusting to having foreign objects, and there may be some constriction at times. Its WAY too early for erosion - that will be painful and obvious. You will feel the cylinders. This is normal. As your body adjust and the protien capsule is formed, you'll notice it less, but with the Titan its not uncommon - AMS 700s have a softer construction and look more normal when flaccid - consider it a quirk of the Titan (re: Dogears).
3. Catheters suck. Wasn't my first when I got my implant, but it was one of the more uncomfortable what with all the trauma to the penis. It'll come out soon. Your urination habits will return to normal - give it time.
4. Lucky duck! I was in pain for a while - and there WILL be recurring pain and new pain as you inflate and cycle the implant - but you'll get used to it - and the best part is - it'll lessen as you heal and your body adjusts - remember - you have a foreign body inside of YOUR body - and your body will encapsulate it - which will help. That can take up to a year. FYI - I'm about four months and three weeks out - and things are pretty normal here. Give it time.
Again - welcome and best of luck in your healing journey!
