Dr. Hakky just implanted a 24 cm CX with two RTEs. I'm not sure what my distal and proximal measurements were. He overfilled the reservoir, as we had previously discussed, with an extra 10 cc, totaling 110 cc.
The surgery was very long—my wife became extremely worried—due to unexpected scarring on the left side near the tip. During the procedure, the cylinder actually broke and had to be replaced. The right-side cylinder was a routine install. He and the device rep almost made a game-time decision to switch to a Titan because they're firmer than the CX. However, he stuck with the CX, honoring our extensive discussions about my preference for the CX and the new Tenacio pump. This information comes from the debrief he gave my still very worried wife while I was in recovery.
I'm at a total loss as to what could have caused such significant scarring. I rarely used injectables because they were too painful, and I didn't use VEDs or any other devices. This situation underscores the importance of choosing a high-volume, experienced implanter whenever possible—they're better able to handle unique problems and non-routine situations.
If anybody has experience using a implant with heavy scarring, please share your experiences with me.
The surgical team was professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. They made the procedure as comfortable as possible. I currently have a nerve block, so I'm experiencing zero pain—yeah! I'm partially inflated but unsure of the exact percentage. I'm aggressively icing and have a drain installed; so far, there's minimal swelling and discomfort.
I'm in ketosis, per Dr. Hakky's recommendation, and will be using creatine, collagen, protein powder shakes, and nitric oxide supplements during my recovery. My follow-up is scheduled for early next week to begin inflating and deflating, with a face-to-face meeting with Dr. Hakky in about two weeks. Hopefully, I'll be cleared to start using it four weeks from today as was discussed.

Re: Today I Went Bionic
I echo your recommendation regarding highly qualified and talented doctors to slice open your penis and hold your intimate life in his/her hands.
Dr. Clavell was unable to get one of the dilators up into my left corpora, so he kept downsizing the dilators but wasn't able to get through some unknown scarring. On the fly, he made an incision just below my glans and cleared the blockage and closed me back up. Apparently he literally wrote the book on that procedure, as I found a white paper he did on it many years back. I never once injected, and have no recollection of any penis trauma, so no telling where that came from.
I too have a CX and couldn't be happier. It's rock hard when I need it to be, and is just like OEM when I don't.
Congratulations. ICE, ICE, ICE, and stay ahead of the pain that might come, don't chase it. I alternated Tylenol and Advil every 3 hours when the nerve block wore off, and I only needed to do that on the 4th day for about 36 hours. From that point, I didn't have any pain, just the discomfort of a boner 24/7, which I sort of enjoyed.

I think it might be impossible to overstate how important it is to get as talented and competent an installer as is possible.

Did you gain or lose any size with your CX and how long after surgery did it take for you to get to your current size?

Thanks for the the insight on pain management. I intend to execute that strategy zealously.
Just an FYI for those in Georgia with BCBS insurance. They approved my procedure with no problems twice and it was two different employer plans. The earlier authorization expired because I chickened out the 1st time. My only cost was my $1000 deductible and Hakky's $300 to schedule a surgery date.

Well done Dondada!
As a recent fellow implantee best wishes for your recovery.

70 y.o. married from Sydney Oz. PC and nerve sparing RRP 2022, but still profound ED since. Tried pills, injections, shockwave therapy, VED. Finally implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal.
Now dealing with recovery.

I am using Hakky and I have access to BCBS insurance. But my policy has a specific exclusion that any procedure for sexual dysfunction isn't covered. Does your policy have a similar exclusion, but was covered anyway? I know policies can vary, so I thought I'd ask.
I'm assuming I'll have to pay out of pocket for the procedure, but it sure would be nice if I didn't.
Also, did you have the procedure done in his office, or at Northside? Did he do it penoscrotal or infrapubic?
58yo in good shape looking at Coloplast Titan. Tri-Mix still works but is a drag.
Re: Today I Went Bionic
I think corporal fibrotic scarring can happen just from smooth muscle atrophy, but I'm not sure
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. Surgery scheduled for Coloplast Genesis 5/19/25

I would call his office and ask for the specific billing codes. Sorry...but I do not remember what they are. I would then call BCBS and ask if those codes are covered. To repeat, I got it covered under two different BCBS plans, so I like your chances!

Northside Gwinnett Outpatient Surgery Center. It was a fantastic and very professional experience. I had the infrapubic- Hakky's choice-and so far I am pain free with minimal to little swelling and my fingers are crossed that it continues to go well.

Congrats!! Welcome to the brotherhood.
What was recommended to me (and I think was in part responsible for my fast recovery) was ice ice ice ice constantly and strict bed rest for the first three days.
I took a percoset before bedtime the first night thinking I was going to have pain. Took another in the middle of the night still thinking I would have pain. I never did. About midway through the next day I still had no pain but started taking ibuprofen a couple times a day for anti-inflammatory properties.
Several people recommended taking a stool softener tablet every time you need to take a narcotic pain pill this sounds like good advice but I never had to put it to use.
After day 3 heating pads were better than ice for me and theoretically increase blood flow to the area and speed healing. After the first 3 days of bed rest I slowly increased my activity but was encouraged to stay off my feet reclining whenever possible.
Follow all of your surgeons orders/recommendations. Ignore any advice here that contradicts his recommendations.
We all react to pain differently. Hopefully you’ll have a quick, comfortable recovery.
Keep an updated journal of your recovery so other guys after you can learn from your experience.

Don't know if Eid gave you a nerve blocker but Hakky gave me one and it's working like a charm! Highly recommend that everyone request a nerve blocker. The nerve blocker should be good for 3 days but I might start on some Aleve tonight just to be sure I am out in front of any pain. I was prescribed and have Oxycodone pills but I am hoping not to have to use them. I am taking the Gabapentin 2 x daily for 7 days. Again just to head off any potential nerve pain. He also prescribed an antibiotic which I am also taking, as an aside, Hakky seems to be really huge on protecting against any infections - I got 3 different prescription IV antibiotic drugs just before surgery which I surely appreciated!

I will try my best to pass on any nuggets that I discover that are helping me.
So far zero pain and I've been able leave the house, drive, go to the grocery store, etc. even with my drain bag, which I highly recommend since it seems to be helping a lot with any potential swelling!
