3 days before implant surgery and I entered a terrible state of anxiety and fear. The main thing that worries me is that I skipped the injections stage. I would really like to hear the opinions of men who have also had injections and what is the difference?

I will add that I am not afraid of needles or injections, it just sounds awkward and less spontaneous to me. I will also mention that I often travel outside the country.

I skipped injection and have surgery scheduled next month. But I did get injections during the Ultrasound and the results were mediocre.

I was terrified about the implant, but after turning 50 last year I realized that there are so many potential health hazards coming in the future that I may miss the opportunity to do this if I don't act now. This realization has given me courage.

Yes, injections work well for most guys. Drawbacks are keeping the mix refrigerated and inconvenient for spontaneous sex.
You are at the age ED first hit me. From pills to injections to implant was my route and knowing what I know now wish I could have gone straight to the implant. Thirteen years of fighting it made me lose size. It was also my first ever surgery as an adult. Scared, anxious, terrified? Yes to all of those but I survived. Good Luck!

I wish I had skipped injections. The injections caused / excabrated my Peyrones and I had big indents caused by the indentions which made my life a living hell. They CAN work for some people, and they did for me, but the side effects for me were horrendous. If you have severe ED - i.e. ZERO function - then yes - surgery is right for you. If you can tollerate injections, go that route first. There is no going back, but - that being said - getting the implant was the best thing ever for me. Corrected my indents and Peyrones.

Im 12 days post op.

First, the immediate post op pain is not nearly as bad as you think it will be. That said, you will feel very sore for a while. Don’t let the recovery keep you from regaining your sexuality and with it your self worth. I haven’t pumped it up yet, but the giant cloud of ED over my head is gone!

Injections: they didn’t work for me because while they made me hard, the medicine caused a deep ache in and around the base of my penis. No fun, not many orgasms. Some people react that way, but others don’t have that problem.

I’m happy with my decision.

Welcome! For me the injections worked for a while, though sometimes with variable results, definitely inconvenient and without spontaneity. But the main problem was that they gave me a build up of scar tissue. I didn't get Peyronie's disease but the injections eventually stopped working because I could no longer find any unaffected cavernosal locations to inject due to the scar tissue. In hindsight I should never have bothered with them at all. And also wish I had gone for an implant much earlier. I'm only 6 weeks post op and just started cycling but I'm already very confident that I made the right decision. Yes you will be sore at times but the pain is not that bad in my experience. Most others seem to be the same. I haven't needed to take anything stronger that paracetamol for pain relief, and mostly I haven't needed anything at all. I would try to relax and learn as much as you can so that you will be ready for your recovery journey. I'm sure you will do fine.

I did injections for over a decade. Frankly, I don't think you missed much. Yes, they work (sometimes *too* well). But you're constantly fiddling with your dose, chasing the perfect hardness without getting priapism. Spontaneity is gone, you kind of have to plan and schedule -- it would be impossibly difficult if you were single and dating.

As I said, I've been shooting up for a long time. The shots still work, my penis (so far) has no fibrosis or Peyronie's. But I'm still electing to get an implant later this year...what does that tell you?

Just pick one of the respected, high-volume surgeons and trust it will work out. Freaking out is pretty normal, but the definition of courage is being scared and moving forward anyway.
