Would be very nice to get an update from you NYCGay...

Hope you are doing well!
I'm 39 years old. Never was able to maintain my erections for more than 1 minute. Pills don't work. Had sclerotherapy by Dr. Kuehhas in Austria in 2016. Didn't work. Injections (Caverject) are the only things that gave me acceptable results.

Now, almost 3 years on, are you still around, and how are things working?

Four-year update

Postby NYCGay » Mon Feb 24, 2025 6:11 pm

Somehow, I lost the habit of writing journal entries about my life as a bionic man. Well, it’s been almost four years since I get the implant, and on the whole, I’m very happy with it. It has enabled me to have the kind of sexual thrills and intimate encounters that usually escaped me during the three decades I suffered from ED.

Here is a pic of me with my Coloplast Titan, fully pumped up. The perceptive viewer will see the pump, looking like a third testicle between the other two.

If there is any interest, I’d be happy to post more pics and a fuller account of what my sex life with the implant is like nowadays.

Yes I would love to hear more about how things have been going and more pics of what your implant looks like nowadays, both inflated and deflated

Hi NYCgay, i was wondering, in your initial surgery how much size did you lose, and how long did it take you to recover all of it (if you ever did)? thanks!

Hi Discovernew!
Before I got the implant, my dick bulged out on one side of the shaft. (See pic on page 10 in my journal.) With this bulge, I had a girth of 6.7". After the implant, the bulge largely disappeared, and my girth now is now 5.7". So I lost a full inch in girth, and have not gained any of it back. I didn't lose any length.

Thanks for the update! Was your length the same since day 1 post op? Or it took a while to get your length back?

I have to revise my previous answers just a little. I don't measure myself often, but I did just now, to confirm my measurements, and they have actually changed just a little bit.

Before the surgery, my length and girth were both 6.7".

Right after the surgery (not Day 1 post op, but as soon as I was able to pump it it and measure), the length was still 6.7" (i.e. unchanged), but the girth was 5.7" (i.e. I'd lost an inch).

Now the length seems more like 7", though depending on how hard into my pubic area I press the ruler, I can get measurements from 6.7" to 7.5". I can't recall exactly how hard I pressed four years ago.

The girth is easier to measure exactly, and that is now 6". So I've gained back 0.3" since the surgery. While I love having decent girth, I don't really think this is a development to be happy about. Dr. Eid told me before the surgery that I have a weak tunica. The girth that I've gained back is, I presume, a sign that my tunica is slowly giving way and expanding from the pressure of the implant cylinders. I fear that could cause a problem in the long run (and possibly quite soon). Earlier, when I pumped myself up, I kept going till the bulb was so hard that I couldn't press it again. But nowadays, I can keep pressing the bulb till it finally won't expand again. I assume this means that there is no more liquid left in the reservoir. So if my tunica keeps expanding, giving more room for the cylinders to expand, there won't be any more liquid to pump into them, which, I fear, will lead to a weaker erection.

I might make an appointment with Dr. Eid to discuss the issue.

Thanks for the update! always good to know what a long term update looks like.

I really wonder what Dr Eid meant by "weak tunica", did he elaborate at all on what that means? And what could be the consequence of having a weak tunica, if anything at all?

Regarding the pump having no more fluid, it indeed means you used all the fluid in your reservoir. I remember reading some people saying their reservoirs were topped up with more fluid during revisions. And i also remember seeing a video from Dr Perito saying that if the reservoir is not big enough, he likes to leave some extra fluid inside the implant during the surgery. So like even if you are inflated 10% at all times, that would be like having some extra capacity on your reservoir.

I don't remember exactly what Dr. Eid said about the weak tunica, but my impression is this: a healthy tunica should not grow larger or looser over time; it should retain its shape and size, enclosing the corpora, so that you get hard when the corpora fill with blood. A weak tunica, on the other hand, will slowly stretch out as the years pass, giving you larger and larger girth, but weaker and weaker erections, since it won't squeeze the corpora as tightly.

I remember that Dr. Eid told me that it's important that I keep my implant deflated when I'm not using it, so as not to stretch out the tunica. And I do keep the implant deflated when I go about my daily life. But on occasion, I enjoy rather long sex sessions, during which I may pump it up and deflate it several times. Also, on occasion, on nude beaches, or in gay bars, I pump it up just partly and keep it like that for a long time. Call me vain, but I love the attention.
