My insurance told me, the Dr and hospital it was covered, I then needed immediate revision (done 2.5 months later) and of course then got the letter saying no we aren't covering it. Been fighting them over it since Jan and just got word they are going to cover the previous surgeries, I don't know if they are going to cover this revision I need ( both my first implant and the revision failed ) but hopefully I'll be getting more info next week.

If you know which device you were to get, ams700 or titan usually, then contact the manufacturer of the device and let them know you're trying to get approved for it but insurance is denying it and you would like to have their help in possibly getting it approved. At worst they can say sorry we can't help, but they might be able to point you where you need to go or what information you need to possibly get the decision reversed.

Thank you, I'll give this a shot and will report back.

Ok, here’s a status update for you. Cigna is still screwing around so I’ve decided to push this further. I’ve submitted complaints through the ACA the Texas Department of insurance and already have an attorney on retainer if they decide to not play nice I’m done screwing around with them and I’m gonna make sure that other people do not have to deal with this stuff ever again

The reason I’m pushing this forward so much is that there’s a disparity in treatment between biological males and folks being treated for gender dysphoria the coverage, excludes the implant for a person like myself, but straight out says it’s automatically qualified for those going through transition treatment it’s a crazy role reversal, but I’m over here advocating for myself because there’s nobody out there that I’ll do it for me

Aetna and Cigna got about a 1% success rate for penile implants y'all.

Even after a successful pre-authorization, those fucking bastards will pull the rug 24-48 hours before your surgery.

If a new job is dangling these plans in front of me, I ain’t takin the bait!

I have my state and federal complaints filed so I suppose it’s time for me to sit back and see what happens

Quick update: I filed an ACA complaint and that got their attention real quick, especially since I have all the documents needed to call them out. Now, we wait.

Cigna fucked me over, too, back in June. Total exclusion on my plan, and I have the most expensive Cigna plan available. When I get a new job I'll be making damned sure that I have proper insurance. Never going to be in this situation ever again.

Quick update: I am still battling Cigna, but have made a good amount of progress.

Dr. Hofer has really gone to bat for me, and I feel I am in good hands (literally and figuratively). There is hope but just need for Cigna to understand the disparity in coverage they have caused with the wording in their own policy. I am hoping to hear more in a week or so.
