my testicles shut down due to a pituitary/hypothalamus tumor so secondary hypogonadism. with no hormones to signal the testis to function they shut down. i’ve been on some form of testosterone replacement therapy for 25 years, mainly nebido but i did try the gel about 15 years ago. the gel raised dht and i lost my hairline would have been nice to know that could happen. so i went back on nebido and complained about atrophy and finally i was prescribed hcg. my testicles initially responded but quickly gave out and my testosterone dropped. it was too late to save them. they continued to atrophy and at last time measured about 4 ml or what an average 8 year old has. i have had relationships fail in part due to my discomfort over my lack of testicles and a lot of questions and failure to establish relationships. my endocrinologist suggested implants and after some waiting and other issues i was scheduled about two weeks ago. a simple procedure but the urologist said atrophied testicles have a high chance of cancer and you should always have that in mind and have them checked. my righty had been giving me more and more pain and discomfort the only solution was to have them removed in order to stop the constant pain. unfortunately due to a bleed on one side they were only able to place the right one and i have to wait for the swelling to go down to place the left one. implants size the largest they offered probably a bit larger than mine were at their largest about 25 ml. but boy my scrotum swelled up like a melon plus the side of the bleeding has a rock like lump that will take time to heal. i have my first appointment in a week with implant specialist to discuss penile implant or other therapy as injections caused priapism on both attempts and doctor doesn’t want me to use the injections. it’s nice to see a full scrotum again after such a long time. it really changes how you fill out your underwear and i’ve been in a jockstrap these past weeks for healing. first time in 25 years i’ve needed one and it feels good. picture of before implant surgery to see how small my scrotum was.
