Revision coming up: AMS or Coloplast??

Postby 1Roofer » Mon Mar 02, 2020 7:28 pm

My last 2 coloplast 22 cm’s failed due to pump/tubing failure. Should I think about switching to AMS or stay with Coloplast & change to a One Touch instead of the 3-valve Genesis?

Anyone made conversion from Coloplast to Ams?

Any input & information is greatly appreciated

Just curious, but did the same doctor install both failed units?
If so, I'd think that might be a red flag.

Were both failures pump or tubing?
I just feel tubing failures would be most common due to the damned connections.

For my revision he just replaced the bulb/pump & spliced the tubes from the cylinders & pump & used quick connects.

Honestly not sure if I’ll use him again. He never assisted with Coloplast claim process after the first failure & even after 5 months he is seeming slow to make things right

About 2 weeks until I find out. I had some complications from a hernia surgery and my titan quit working. Now I have hernia issues along with a nonworking titan. Ct showed a deflated reservoir.

The doc who did the implant just wanted to go in and replace reservoir and pump along with tubing.

I have to have a general surgeon at surgery to deal with hernia issue, so was referred to a local urologist by the hospital group for his opinion. He said I should have everything replaced and not just a cut and paste. He also could even my tips out. I ended up with one side about 1 cm shorter than the other after cycling the titan for a year.

I am not sure about warranty but do not think that anything would be covered in my case.

New doc wants to use the ams lgx to replace the titan. He feels that a year with the titan fixed the peyronies and if all things being equal I would like the softer cylinders better in the lgx.

My only real thought is if the lgx is hard enough to keep the peyronies at bay. Doc says if I cycle and am straight now no worries. My size is not huge but more average so do not think I need the rigid titan for length issues.

After 1 year cycling the titan, I am a little over 6.5 pumped and 5.5 girth. More on the long and skinniesh side. He said I might get my last .5 inch back with the lgx. I was before peyronies and ed just under 7 inches.

So 2 weeks before my revision to an lgx. I will see how it goes. At least I can give a review of the pluses and minuses comparable to the titan. To be honest I loved my titan.

But not having been hard since jan 6, I want it fixed and able to pump back up.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.
