When I mentioned the possibility to my doctor at the 2-week followup, he flat-out told me, "I destroyed your cavernosal tissue so that's not possible." He then went on to tell me of one young patient he had at one time who had been implanted without a real medical need because his wife insisted. After the marriage fell apart, the guy had the doctor remove his implant and was able to get proper erections without the implant.
That confused me why he would tell me that my suggestion of functional erectile tissue was not possible but then recounted his one experience with a patient that he explanted who was able to regain full rigid erectile function after removal.
