Update - activation on hold

Postby readyforchange » Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:06 pm

Hi All:

Thank you guys for all your help and guidance.

I went to Dr. Kramer today - two and a half (2.5) week follow-up.

I got acquainted with the deflate and inflate portions of the pump. Things are on hold for the moment though as I had some pain in my right testicle. The pump sits great and is completely concealed from view.

The one issue is the pump, being tucked behind my testicles and down in the rear of my scrotum, has been pushing on my right testicle. This has made my right testicle inflamed and sore. That has not dissipated. I’m doing a 5-day antibiotic, just to be on the safe side, however it does not appear to be an infection - and certainly not one caused by the implant.

I will go back to Dr. Kramer in 4 weeks should things not be resolved before then.

Anyone experience this and/or have advice as to things they did to resolve this issue?

Left testicle pushed up because it was sitting on top of the pump. No signs of infection. Pump bulb makes a prominent bulge on left side of scrotum.

Uncomfortable for the left testicle for a couple months.

Completely resolved by Time .

Good luck. I have no doubt you will be fine.

Hey Lost Sheep, how long did it take, I seem to have the same issue but on the right side as you do.

I say my right testicle is mad at the roommate.

When I cycle I have to sure go have a good grip on the tubes or he (my right nut) screams at me. This makes it hard for me to try and change my pump grip

After a couple of months, my testicle was still above the pump, but getting comfortable there. It is still difficult for me to find, grip and feel/palpate the testicle.

I learned to grip the pump after a couple weeks. I trap the pump bulb between the base of my thumb and my first and second fingertips. Sometimes I will use the other hand to steady the valve body. This works with either hand doing the pumping.

I don't particularly like the bulge, but that is purely cosmetic. Especially visible when I am wearing briefs.

I’m having a degree of nervousness with respect to pumping up. I think I’m a bit scare of hurting my - already - crowded testicle area! Tomorrow will mark 3 weeks since my implant. I don’t want to lose length by not pumping but the sensitivity in my scrotal area has made it difficult. Any thoughts?

Also, while bathing - how long do you guys usually spend in there?

But Dr. Kramer leaves you partially inflated and that is intended to prevent length loss due to scar tissue. I hope. Well...it has been 4 weeks since my surgery and i still get enough pain on and off that prevents me from moving to the pump.

Hi Guys!

This is exactly the topic I was looking for too

I’m about 13 days out. Couple days ago got in hot bath and could definitely feel all the parts I needed to feel. But NO WAY could I push hard enough to engage deflate valve. Just still too sore in scrotum. BTW, it sits behind and below right teste and DEFINITELY makes its presence known if I walk, stand, or sit too long. It’s a “hot-spot” for most of my remaining discomfort. I feel like I could MAYBE pump a little, but really don’t want to until I learn to activate deflate valve with confidence. I really need for what comes up to must come down. Having had a semi erection for two weeks has been extremely annoying. Don’t want to make that even worse!! As an anesthesiologist, i wish i could give myself a small spinal anesthetic just to get things started, but it would be kinda hard to reach, even for an old pro like me :D

Anyway, I decided to just take a hot bath every other day until I get to a point I can press that freaking button.

On another note, has anyone experienced random urethral burning sensation? Not during urination actually, but just at random times? Can hurt like hell for an hour or two, then just go away. I have no signs/sxs of uti, and have been on antibiotics since the procedure. Praying it’s not a urethral injury or soon to be erosion.

Anyway, thanks all!!!
Developed Type 1 at age 43. ED started about 4 years later (~2013). Pills quit working. Peyronie’s joined the circus. Finally coloplast 18+0 9/12/2019.

I think I understand what happened with mine. It seems as though the pump (the block with the deflate valve) is turned sideways - meaning the block goes north to south rather than east to west. Should I swing it around/massage it to run easy to west?

I spent a few days at beginning of week 3 pumped up and could not deflate. I was pushing hard on what I thought was the deflate button, nothing.

Rough few days until i could get in to see my doc. Took rest of my pain pills i did not take after my surgery. My otr titan pump also had shifted and the deflate button is pointing straight out. I have no idea how the ams works but i like my release button pointing out. I get to it with either hand no problem.

My sac was still swollen a bit and still a lot of tissue inside it making it hard for me to tell where button was.

I started pumping up in doc office that day. He made sure I knew how to deflate. Told me he did not need to see me again and enjoy. Been doing that ever since. Over 6 months now.

Some advice. Get in tub as soon as doc says you can. Make sure you can find deflate button. Pump up in tub. I was taking 2 baths a dsy for at least a half hour each till about 4th week then just did it in a hot shower. We had sex at end of week 3.

You want start pumping as soon as your doc says. Pain or no pain. I had very little pain due to the cylinders but my sac stayed tender for a couple months. Pumping caused me to see stars. The more you pump the easier it gets.

Just make sure you can deflate. I just hope I did no permanent damage to my pump pushing on the sides of it as hard as I could. So far so good.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.
