What can I expect in the 48 hours post surgery that you guys have found that your doc didn’t fully inform you about. Trying to anticipate any surprises.
Scheduled to have my Coloplast implant done Oct 22.

Your best bet is to read a few journals on here and other sites or wherever you find them. Search penile implant journals. Then ask your doc preferably before surgery about his protocol. I woke up with a 60 percent inflated dick for 2 weeks. A bit difficult to deal with to say the least. At 2 week follow up he deflated to 25 percent. Wish I had asked that question before surgery. We had a big grill out about week 2. I spent it in sweat pants, big oversized shirt and walk around bent over with an erection strapped to my stomache.
The most thing in common was the real lack of direction most are given by their doc. Each is different to. Some leave you pumped up for weeks, some just days, some send you home flaccid, some tell you not to touch pump. Some say it is okay to pull down on ot.
Some say do not touch it till your first follow up, others say pump up when you are comfortable.
Some docs never even give some instructions on how often or long to pump up.
One overriding factor I could find was lay flat on your back as much as you can the first week. Walk around when you feel comfortable doing so. Hot baths when your doc says it's ok, not till then though. You will definitely know when things are getting better. I could lift weights or strenuous exercise week 6.

Re: 48 hours post surgery surprises
For me and I'm just beyond the 48 hour mark, the biggest surprise was feeling the weight of my dick kind of swinging as I walked to the bathroom yesterday morning it was like I was a kid again.
I also noticed that the where I feel the ache has moved from my sack to where I suspect the reservoir was placed. For me the pain is a dull ache that some times goes up but and ice pack and Tylenol seem to be doing the trick.
My shaft aches a little from being inflated at 50% but I do love how it looks even with the bruising which seems to be getting better.

Re: 48 hours post surgery surprises
When I was released from the hospital after surgery my doc told me he was leaving my device partially inflated. When I was back and home and needed to urinate I removed the gauze wrap and found my penis was looking up at me, at about 2 o’clock. I went to the toilet and there was no way I could aim into the bowl. Had i not just had surgery I could have done it, but was in no shape for contortions. Thankfully, our house is at a dead end in a heavily wooded area so I could go outside. I tried to find the pump but at that time my sac was very tender and a bit swollen and I was unable to deflate it to help for the next time, I was able to go to the doc’s office and he deflated it to about 4 o’clock.
I did not take pain pills except for one the first night because I figured it would help me sleep. I was sore, but the mild pain was tolerable. My biggest issue was getting from a prone position in bed to a seated position on the side of the bed. It was tender where the reservoir was located inside me and bending was not fun for a week or so.
