I was implanted 7-24-19 this morning a day late I started pulling the pump down. Not much fun especially right now with the swelling.
My question is does it ever get easier and how far down does it need to be? It seems like below the testicles and forwards would be best.
Thanks

Re: Pulling the pump down question
Mine is at the bottom of my scrotum. I believe that it was stitched in place. I pulled on it every day after the surgery. The swelling will go down with ice and should be getting better. Pull the pump where you feel the most comfy. The tubes going to the pump should not be hard to pull down on yet. Mine is almost laying sideways but not quite. I hope that this will help answer some of the questions. Just pull easy and to where you may feel that is where you want it. Otherwise it will start moving up and be hard to feel the deflate button.

Re: Pulling the pump down question
Just keep at it. After my surgery, I was chastised by the Coloplast educators at my doctor’s office for not doing enough. I can’t remember changing my technique, but I did up the frequency.
Happy I did it. Pumping is so easy. It’s easy to find the pump as well.

Thanks guys! I can pull it forward a decent amount but I think it would be nice if it was further forward. I also think part of my issue is the swelling and pain right now. I except it to get better in about 5 days or so.

Re: Pulling the pump down question
trlewis35, I am 39 days out. I had trouble pulling my down for the 1st couple weeks because of swelling. Use a lot of ice to reduce your swelling and it will be a lot easier when some of your swelling goes down. Today it is very easy to keep down in the bottom between your testicles as my swelling is almost gone. First couple weeks are the most difficult.

Re: Pulling the pump down question
My doctor recommended that I pull down on the pump every time I had to pee, in order to make sure I was doing it enough. You need to be very gentle at first. IMO, you don't want the pump too far forward, as it may stick out too much and be too obvious. Getting it low in the sack is probably more important than getting it forward. Best position may be below and a little behind or between the boys. It also helps to make sure it doesn't adhere to one of your nuts, and that it stays loose inside the scrotum. When you're pinching the skin while inflating, being able to move the bulb around helps keep from pinching the same spot.
It gets easier fairly quickly, especially when you are cleared to get into a hot bath. Good luck!

Re: Pulling the pump down question
Been doing it as much as I can. At first pulling from the top of the pump as with all of the swelling it was easiest to access. Almost able now to grab from the bottom.

Re: Pulling the pump down question
But is it really wise to pull it down. As my doctor expalined he said that the first place the implants fail is the tubes that rub on eatch other and that creates holes. And that is the end for that implant.
My pump sist pretty tight right behinde the left ball and the tubes are pretty embedded. The release button is just so that I can get to it fairly easy. The tubes are very protected and they are not dangling inside the sac.
I would be concerned if the dangle too much too far down in the ballsack giving them the possibility to rub on eatch other?! No?

Re: Pulling the pump down question
I may have my pump in a good place. If I'm standing it sits right behind my left nut which is uncomfortable because of soreness and swelling. I can't feel the deflate button or get around it much to pump it, which I'm not doing yet.
