Life Expectancy.

Postby ZAVRIS » Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:58 pm

I need to know how long a Penile Implant will last. I have read the Two and Three pieces last 5-15 Years. But I am getting a 1 Piece, Malleable.

Specifically, a Coloplast Genesis.

How long does Coloplast Genesis last?

Welcome to the forum,

ssentially, as long as your penis' internal tissues tolerate it. There are essentially no moving parts to the device and the material (as far as I know, which is not very far, I admit) nothing to leak or wear out.

Service life seems to be one thing where malleables have the advantage over inflatables. That and not having a reservoir (which usually requires no thought) and the pump (which does require thought).

I am sure you are fully informed about the disadvantages of the malleable (stowage and deployment), and, of course, the risk of erosion if not properly sized.

But if medical complications prevent you from having an inflatable, malleable is a viable alternative. Good on you for proceeding.

My prayers are with you.
