Cock & Ball Ring Tutorial

Some guys find a simple shaft ring (at the base of the penis) is helpful in sustaining a "usable" erection. I never found much satisfaction with a shaft-only cock ring, and started experimenting with "cock and ball" (C&B) rings. Perhaps it's that I have a venous leak closer in toward my body, where a simple shaft ring wouldn't help.

I wanted a C&B ring snug enough to adequately trap blood in my erect penis, but didn't want anything that would cut off circulation, injure the spermatic cord and other structures, and --worst of all-- get stuck and result in a trip to the emergency room.

MAKING A PLASTIC TUBING C&B RING
Before I ever attempted a metal ring, I wanted to make sure that I had the right size. So I started out with making a homemade plastic tubing ring that I could easily remove.

It is made simply with:
1/4" plastic tubing, cut to length.
1/2" length of 3/8" wide threaded rod (sufficient for a snug fit inside the tubing)

For my purposes, I cut the point and head off of a 3/8" wide screw. It needs to be long enough to hold the ends of the tubing together in a ring, but not so long that it can't pull apart quickly.

Measuring the appropriate length for the tubing is somewhat a matter of trial and error. While as erect as possible, use a string to measure the circumference of your entire unit: behind the scrotum and up over the top of the penis shaft. Mark the string and lay it against a ruler. A fabric measuring tape can also be used, but a string is just as effective for giving a more accurate measurement. Cut the plastic tubing to the same length.

Be generous with your first measurement of the plastic tubing. [I was only at about 40% in the "Measuring" video.] Try it out! If it doesn't seem to work, decrease the size incrementally. It should feel very snug, but not pinching in a painful way.

You can wait until you're completely erect to try and attempt to put on a plastic tubing C&B ring, but it's almost impossible to do so without pinching something. Connect the two ends of the plastic tubing so you can put it on in an 'assembled state.'

To put on a cock and ball ring, pull some scrotal skin part way through the ring. This will give room for you to then pull/push your testicles through the ring, one at a time. Once both testicles are in the ring, then push/pull your shaft through the top of the ring, starting with the glans. For demonstration purposes, I'm using a metal ring here, but I did this with removable plastic tubing before attempting it with a metal ring.

When you put on a plastic tubing ring, be sure the ends meet at the top of your penis shaft so it can be quickly detached if you're in a hurry to remove it. That's one advantage of using a plastic tubing ring.

The video shows how to attach a C&B ring using a 2" metal ring, bought at the hardware store. They are sold at stores like Lowe's as a "harness ring".

I didn't attempt wearing a 2" metal ring until I was fairly confident in wearing a plastic tubing ring with a complete erection. For that reason, I practiced removing the plastic ring without using the "safety release" of actually pulling it apart.

Once the ring is in place, you're ready for continued stimulation so that blood will be trapped in your unit. Your penis may feel a bit colder than usual, but it should not be painful.

To remove a plastic tubing C&B ring, simply pull it apart at the screw attachment.

To remove a metal C&B ring, wait until you've lost your erection. Slip each testicle out one at at time, then your penis. Some guys, however, might find it easier to slip their penis out before their testicles. You just can't do it all at once, obviously!

The advantage of a plastic tubing ring is that it can be removed quickly and easily. However, the screw can sometimes pull out at the wrong time, and sometimes the ends of the tubing (when they aren't perfectly joined) can cut into tender skin. The advantage of a metal harness ring is that it's completely smooth, won't pull apart, and is slightly small in thickness than the 1/4" tubing that I found. Plus the "heft" of the metal feels more "supportive," like the difference between briefs and a jock strap.

A cock and ball ring is not fool proof in keeping an erection, but it has been one of several useful tools in helping improve EQ (erection quality) when I need it.

Great tutorial. I will have to look at lowe's or a local hardware store for these rings.

The plastic tubing is a good idea but I'm going to try the metal rings first.

Good information and very well done. I was always afraid to order a metal ring to get the right size by trial and error. I have been using a 1/2 inch rubber band which is doubled over. However, it has to be stretched out a number of times to "limber" it up enough so it is not too tight when applied. It and your unit need to be well lubed to avoid pinching. It takes some practice to to get it fitted properly behind your scrotum and on top of your shaft. I have been using it successfully now for more than ten years; however, I believe my unit's size is on the low end of average so it may be too tight for an above average unit.
