Sertaline or Zoloft

One out of Three men in America suffer with PE. It's the largest sexual dysfunction there is. Since there is no discussion board dedicated to PE so far, we will try to fill the need here!

Sertaline or Zoloft

Postby Budward » Tue Mar 19, 2024 2:19 pm

I am reading a lot about Sertaline for treating PE. I guess it is named Zoloft. How does this compare to the other meds.
Can you use it only on the days before injection? Don't want to get on long term Zoloft or any other anti depressant.

I took Paroxetine (paxil) for 3.5 years to help with my PE.
I took 10mg daily. Unfortunately, sex only happened once a week or less.

It did help. But ultimately was bandaid at best. Plus I gained weight as a result of being on it.
The studies I read that if you take it as needed (day of sex), it needs to be taken 2-3 hours prior.
Age: 68. Struggled with ED/PE for years.
Used Viagra for 10+ years with mixed success.
In May 2022 started using Trimix with very good results.
Feb 2023 developed PD

I took Sertaline the last trimix shot. two pills two hours before and I did indeed not come in 3 minutes. Had a very good session. Thank God for this resurrection and thanks to all of you.

Thank you Jacob for the information. I am soaking up a lot of input. I use the Zoloft 3 hours before and it definetly helps me do the job. Also I am only active once ever two or three weeks at this point and have been on long term citralopram which I ditched about 9 months ago.

When it comes to comparing Sertaline with other medications for PE, such as SSRIs like fluoxetine (Prozac) or paroxetine (Paxil), there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. Different individuals may respond differently to each medication, and their effectiveness can vary based on factors like the underlying cause of PE and individual body chemistry.

As for your concern about using Sertaline only on the days before intercourse, it's essential to consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice. SSRIs like Sertaline typically need to be taken regularly to be effective for PE, rather than just on an as-needed basis. Additionally, abruptly starting or stopping SSRIs can lead to withdrawal symptoms or a recurrence of PE symptoms.

Ultimately, the decision about whether to try Sertaline or any other medication for PE should be made in consultation with a healthcare provider.
