No, it's quite obvious, isn't it.
Anyway, what surprises me is that it doesn't deteriorate from here. It has been like this for a few months now.
I thought that once this occured, it would go downhill pretty fast.
But for sure, as long as it stays like this, I'll not have a revision.
Just wait and see for how long it works.

I can also note that I got an email from Eid's clinic with the information that he is back in business again, taking appointments.
Good to hear!
Mostly for him of course, but also for all impotent bastards out there.

Merrix, not that I have any expertise in this area. But I'd guess that there is a ball in the pump that has a bit of a rough spot on it. When the ball rotates to a certain position it'll go wonky on you.
I think your calculations on the revision vs keep going is correct. Hopefully you might get some insight as to when Eid is about to retire so you can slide in under the wire.
Good luck.

Hey Merrix.......good to "see" you.....

Hope you're doing well.......it's been 6 years since my implant, so about 7 years since we met......I'm here very little but occasionally drop in......my implant is going strong and I've not had any issues......I've sometimes thought about how long Dr. Eid would be practicing.....then again, I'm now 73 so who knows anything anymore?.....If I ever need a revision I would do it in a heartbeat even if Dr. Eid were to retire......I assume Dr. Kramer is still "dicking" around......I guess I'll cross that bridge if I come to it.....

Stay well......

Hey Merrix and xomanow:

nice to have a little reunion here. I was implanted by Eid 6 years ago, feb 6 2017, , and greatly enjoyed the "xo chronicles" by xomanow along with merrix all comprehensive journal. Yes, my implant is still perfect, works great, looks great, feels great. (I have an issue with prostate cancer and lupron androgen deprivation which ruins my sex drive, but the implant is totally good).

Stay well my brothers.

Godspeed,

Tangerine

I read your journal several times, including the day before my own implant almost 8 weeks ago. it was an inspiration and in it i found the courage. 8 weeks in and i’m highly optimistic about the future!

Yes, Tangerine and xomanow, we've been around for a while and all having had great results with Eid.
Good to hear both your implants working well. Mine still hangs in there even though there surely is some kind of issue with the pump which makes itself known occasionally - but so far never stopped me from inflating to desired hardness and having sex.

Very sorry to hear about your cancer Tangerine, crossing all fingers that you push through and do well.

Xomanow - yep, it was seven years ago we met there at that hotel room in Manhattan. Me in quite bad pain not being able to go out and get groceries, and you helping out. I am glad I could assist (for whatever it was worth) in your process of going though with implant surgery with Eid.

Stay well boys!

I got prostate cancer (PCa) long before I got ED and learned more about it in a short period of time. Fortunately, my PCa was only Stage 1 (Gleason 6, PSA 4) when it was diagnosed.

I chose Cyberknife (CK) stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) to treat it because it offered the greatest degree of precision to kill the cancer w/a much smaller risk of ED, incontinenece and collateral tissue damage presented by other methods of treatment.

Fortunately, you have an implant to deal w/ED & the lower sex drive associated with the use of Lupron which (for many men) follows the surgical removal of the prostate upon recurrence of the PCa.

Good luck & best wishes!

Been some time...

Postby merrix » Mon Nov 13, 2023 1:33 pm

...since I logged on here.
Had a couple of pm which I think could be worth reply to here for all to see.
Here goes:

Hi Merrix,
this is Simon from Australia, I have ED from venous leak for as long as i remember. A doctor said i could do embolisation where they put glue in the leaky veins to block them off. I saw you had a somewhat similar procedure. I just wanted to learn from your experience, if i should do it or not?
Also which pump do you have, classic or OTR? I am also thinking about going straight to the implant as a surgeon i spoke to said embolisation does not last long, only about 1-3 years. Not sure what to do, highly appreciate your response in this matter

That sounds exactly like what I did. Only my (criminal) doc called it sclerotherapy. Dr. Eid said it was a shady procedure, which won't help in the long run and might even be dangerous and would not get FDA approval in the US. I guess he was right. FT has quite a few stories on this procedure (just search sclerotherapy), and it's not a nice read. If you bother to, you can find my pretty detailed description of the procedure and the results here in this thread.
But the short version is I had the king of dicks after the surgery. Bursting erections every now and then, often from only seeing a goodlooking woman and letting my thoughts run wild. To the point where it got a problem almost. Great morning erections. Woke up at night with full, bursting erections. But only for a couple of months. And most of that time I was healing from surgery and not allowed to have sex. So in the end, pretty useless since by the time I was ready to go the effect started already to wane off and soon thereafter was gone or at least not enough to have proper sex.
Read the stories on here about several FT users who got worse. Some a lot worse, and some with stores ending very badly.
So my advice, for whatever it is worth, is stay away.

Next:

Hi bro,
Since the last one month, my pump is giving a lot of problems. Earlier I could hear the 'pop' sound immediately and inflating was never a problem.
Now that 'pop' sound simply does not come and it does not inflate.
Then I do a lot of troubleshooting like squeezing the deflation block, then the deflate button, then giving the pump a hard squeeze etc. After going thru this several times, inflation becomes possible. It has become quite an ordeal to inflate it.
just wanted to know: does the angle of holding the pump really matter ?

Sounds about like my own issues with my pump as I have described in this thread.
Mine not as bad as yours though. Mine come and go. Most of the time I don't notice anything, but then a couple of times per month I struggle to inflate to full hardness. I get to a point and then from there on I press the pump, it gives me some resistance as if I am pushing fluid out of the pump - but surely not into my cylinders since they don't get harder. Sometimes I can fix it by just pressing the bulb more explosively and then it starts working again. Sometimes I have to deflate and try again, which sometimes help and sometimes not.
So far this has happened around 5-10 times since it first happened close to a year ago. As I said, I have been able to solve it every time, but it is annoying when it happens. I've been close to letting Eid just replace it, but I have decided to wait till it really is broken. Might happen tomorrow or in a few years.

As for your question about the angle, I don't know. My guess is that to some degree it does. But as long as you don't hold it in really strained position where flow will be restricted due to folds, I don't think it should matter. If it does, something is broken and is bound to eventually break down completely.

If someone reading this has had or heard of the same problem - and has a simple solution - let me know.

Take care.

Great to see you back Merrix. You are one of the only few who keep coming back years after the implant to give updates. You are very generous. Most will share their experience with the implant for a few weeks/months, and then we never hear from them again.

I haven't gotten the implant yet, but I'll be entering my 40s next year, so I know the time to make the jump will come very soon. I know you also got your implant in your early 40s.

I hope you still have a few more years before you need to replace your implant.
I'm 39 years old. Never was able to maintain my erections for more than 1 minute. Pills don't work. Had sclerotherapy by Dr. Kuehhas in Austria in 2016. Didn't work. Injections (Caverject) are the only things that gave me acceptable results.
