Agree; however, sometimes they get twisted either during surgery or during the healing process. Mainly because excess tubing is left. In my case, it healed stuck to the left cavernosa, forming like an "S", with the crimping join above the pubic bone plane. Very painful, and pushes the shaft to the right, and twists it as inflation is progressing.

Tubing kink has been suggested. The students who put in my first implant told me to pull my penis back and forth, up and down and the pump also as I pumped the first couple months to help work the kinks out. I do think it helped. My AMS would not pump but 3 pumps or so and get hard as a rock if it squeezed the bulb at 9 &3 position ( clock). It would pump all day and night at 12 and 6. Continued that way until it went in the trash bin. NEVER made sense to me why.

That's a very close description of my experience with the first pump. It was deemed defective since the mechanism was not closing out, hence auto deflation was occurring. But during pumping, that is a description very similar to my experience.

I'm working with the AMS trouble shooter. So far his recommendations aren't helping. Pump is getting easier to pop and drain but anything more than 4 pumps is not gonna happen. I have an appointment with Dr. Kramer in 2 weeks. Hopefully he can get the implant to work.

Woody, wondering if you ever got this to work? I had an infection 3 mos post op that kept me from pumping for 3 weeks. When I finally got back to it, first the release valve was jammed and it was easy to pump (too easy) Saw doc yesterday - he got it going but last night and today it's an effen stone. Prior to my infection it was working fine.
