The thing that scares me (among other things) is the loss of size. When my member is at full staff it is nearly 7 inches. My erections were that long when I was young and in college and they are about that way now when I take Viagra and with the injections.

Otherwise, my erections these days are about 5.5-6 inches right before I ejaculate (I am typically hard only at the end). I did the "stretch" test and I'm about at 5.5 inches.

Perhaps this is an issue that will be resolved with implants in the near future as it seems to concern and affect so many?

You might have gotten some fibrosis around your corpora as well as tunica due to the injections. The more you inject, the more fibrotic gets your spongy tissue. One more good reason for switching to an implant ASAP!!
Didn't your urologist tell about the drawbacks of injecting?

Go get an implant by an excellent surgeon, that guarantees for maximum length. Maximum means as much as possible without buckling which is the result of too much.
After 15-20 years of rich sexual life with your implant your corpora's size will still extend such you might get a larger implant on 1. revision. Given the implant won't last life long without any defect… ;-)

I knew well about the drawbacks. It's easy to ignore when the injections work so well (too well sometimes, who wants an erection for 3 hours?). After the last aforementioned injection I was scared to death that I had Peyronie's disease but my symptoms abated and I seem basically ok now (except for the ED) and I have no plaques or bending. I developed what's known as a Lymphocele, however, which was initially quite sore but now it is small and doesn't cause problems. I will DEFINITELY see the best surgeon possible if I go through with it. Dr. Eid and Dr. Kramer are two that seem to be at the top of the list. Any other suggestions? I will start with a cautious consultation, maybe this summer when I have time off. Instead of the pump, I was thinking there could be a battery powered penile implant in the near future. Why not? The pump seems kind of unpleasant. My life is pretty good career wise but with ED a family and a meaningful relationship is ruled out. It seems too good to be true that it would work so well, but the satisfaction rates seem high. How about the revisions? How could that not cause damage and work less well after each revision? Has anyone had such a revision?

Generally, it's expected that an implant is not going to last forever. I believe the official shelf life is 5 to 10 years. As far as the implants working less well after each revision: The technology for implants continues to improve because Coloplast and AMS keep udating their products. So ostensibly when you get your next one you're getting a better model than before.

Who says a family and meaningful relationship is ruled out with ED? Perhaps there's a special someone out there and a special not-yet-adopted child who would be lucky to have a loving life partner and father. Don't YOU be the one to say no.

I hear a lot of great things about Dr.Eid and Dr. Kramer, but actually there are several excellent doctors who perform this procedure: Dr. Steven Wilson in California; Dr. Run Wang in Houston; Dr. Andrew Kramer in Baltimore; Dr. Bruce Garber in Philadelphia; Dr. Robert Cornell in Houston; doctors at the Mayo Clinic on Rochester, Minnesota; doctors at the Center for Reconstructive Urology in Irvine, California; Dr. Edward Karpman in Mountain View, California...I could give you 10 more, then another 10 after that.

Happy New to all. After reading various posts, reviewing pics of progress and reviewing videos by one of our members, if things were different with my life I would get an implant. When I saw the video where a towel was draped over an erect member after ejaculating I thought Wow! My age, 62, and my wife's health issues tell me to stay with my new VED pump.

When I was in my early thirties, pre-internet, a co-worker shared with several of us that he was having a penal implant "installed". He explained the process and all that I could see was pain! Months passed and someone asked how well it worked? His reply was that his wife bluntly stated "you are not sticking that thing into me". He sounded very broken with the reply. I wouldn't want to go through the process like my friend and maybe never use it.
71 years of age, afflicted with ED in my late 40’s and treated with Viagra. Started treatment for hypertension at the age of 50; diagnosed with PC at age 50, RP at age of 51 years.

Yes, it seemed so.
Wilson is a travelling implant surgeon attending implantations all over the world. Therefore he's hardly, if not at all, operating in the US. Right now he's on Coloplast's payroll, that meens he's only performing/attending Coloplast implantations.
He used to be the most experienced implant surgeon in the world and contributed to lots of ground breaking innovations, as there are the penoscrotal incision, aseptic washout of the corpora before putting in the cylinders on revisions, as well as leaving the old reservoir in situ on revisions when it can't be hauled off and if it's not at all infected. He used to be a real pioneer.
Later on he trained renown surgeons as are Paul Perito and many others. He's very old right now (>70) and no more at the cutting edge of world's most excellent surgeons in the field.

With respect to the operation in Freiburg, Germany: After having been botched I started litigation against the clinic, and it goes on successfully. They had to send all their documents to my lawyer, and 2 papers show that Wilson was the one to operate. But being asked by their insurance, they claimed it'd have been Dr. Christian Leiber, who's a gabber. Since Dr. Leiber faked the data in the Coloplast implant passport as well as in his own operation report (he stated 23 cm on both sides, but it were 26 cm on both sides), it's coherent that one can't believe just nothing of what the affected doctors of that clinic are reporting.
I've got 2 papers stating Wilson was the operator, I have 2 declarations of 2 doctors of the clinic (Leiber as well as his director Wetterauer) stating it'd have been Dr. Leiber, I'v got one faked operation report written by Dr. Leiber himself stating he operated himself. In other words, I ain't got nothing; I don't know nothing. By that dishonest clinic I'll never come to know the truth.
As for Wilson, ha can't memorize nothing of what happened and just told me that normally he's limiting himself to coaching, unless it's about a highly complicated operational case. He also said he'd never implant 3cm more than measured - so maybe that's a slight indication that the foolish one was Dr. Christian Leiber, assistant medical director of urology department at university clinic in Freiburg, Germany.

Cause I can't take responability of telling something deprecative about Steven K. Wilson if I'm not 100% sure of it, I modified the former narration in order to avoid blaming on him illegitimately. All I've got are probabilities, among which the higher one indicates that it was NOT Wilson who botched me.
But you might imagine how dispaired I am with a clinic's staff who's faking documents and lying all the way... in addition to having botched me awfully.

That's why it's very important for a man's wife, husband or significant other to support a major decision such as this. If they don't then what's the point?

I waited 4 years, hoping my nerves would heal and I'd have a reliable response to ED meds. For a while they worked more than 50% of the time and I was OK with that. Once I dropped to 0% success rate I decided to go for an implant. If all goes well my surgery will be Jan 16th. I get very jittery about the decision when I read the threads where men regret their decision or have a significant amount of discomfort for many weeks post-surgery.

I'm going for it hoping I'm not in the minority of men who end up without an infection or a defective implant. Speaking of defective implants, why can't they be tested for defects BEFORE surgery?
