What was the one thing that made you make up your mind?
Re: What was the one thing that made you make up your mind?
Read about them here on FT. Sounded good. Social security covered them. That helped making up my mind. BUT the #1 reason was for me. Tired of feeling broken. If it help with my sex life (which it did not) great, but didn't really matter. The best thing I've done in many, many years.

Re: What was the one thing that made you make up your mind?
My story is much like others left with ED after prostatectomy albeit mine came earlier in life than the average age for prostrate cancer diagnosis. Basically we were happy empty nesters enjoying new found freedom and a rejuvenated sex life. Then came the cancer diagnosis. Post surgery it’s been a roller coaster of inconsistent results with pills pumps, and injections. We make due with other forms of intimacy but too often, when attempting PIV sex, I have to say “sorry honey, it’s not working tonight”. Through it all, my wife has been very supportive about my struggles with ED and never complained. We do miss spontaneity that’s just not possible with pills & injections.
My urologist suggested an implant about 2yrs ago and I began researching them seriously. It didn’t take long for me to conclude that an implant, with a good outcome, is far superior to my current situation. And the odds are greatly in favor of that outcome. That said, I didn’t want to go though IPP surgery without my wife’s support and interest in using it afterwards.
The tipping point, for my decision to get an implant, came when my wife expressed her full support and desire to keep sex in our marriage as long as possible. It took about 2 months of on & off discussions. At first she was like no way; “don’t do that to your self”, “we’re getting by”, “it wouldn’t feel natural” and so on. One by one we went through all her doubts and discussed the pros & cons for getting an implant. I shared a lot of online information with her including some positive testimonials by FT members. As she started understanding the benefits and possibilities for spontaneity again after implant she asked me; “are you really okay with going through this”? I said yes and with that she is all in, decision made, and onto planning to make it happen.
I often seen it written here that you should get an implant for yourself for which I whole heartedly agree. However, In my decision making process, I come to appreciate the burden ED puts on your partner as well. So my decision to get an implant is for US although I’ll feel the greatest relief will be mine when the healing is done and I feel whole again.

URO said he removed all my nerves during my RP. TRI-Mix caused a curve. 9 months after RP got the implant for me. My wife was not in favor of it. On occasion she enjoys it now.
