post op 6 days still bruised and swelling

Postby artful todger » Thu Feb 17, 2022 7:03 am

Hi

I had a titan implanted no incision etc last friday the 11th in london by dr ralph to repair an 80 degree peyronies curve. He said the surgery went well and was uncomplicated. I'm just a bit concerned that after 6 days i'm still very bruised, my scrotum is purple and so is half my shaft and i get alot of pain when i walk around. It does seem to be getting better every day but very very slowly.

I'm 59 pretty fit and eat a healthy diet and dr ralph thought i'd be back at work within a week, but at the moment i pretty much lie on the bed all day to avoid causing pain.

Also my dick sticks out at 3 oclock and bending it to try and put in underwear causes quite alot of pain. Pissing is still quite hard work as well as i can't bend it down towards the pan. I'm wondering if its a bit oversized as i have 2 quite pronounced dog ears and a couple of very small ones, i'm deflated.I was 6.3 inches in ved before surgery and i think flacid stretch was about 14cm and the titan is 23 cm. The main pain is at the base and the pump if i try and move it around.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It was only 6 days ago my friend.

The pain is normal.

The implant cylinders will soften over time.

And I’m assuming you’re still somewhat inflated at present, even partially, soon you’ll be able to deflate fully. If it is fully deflated, I think it’s ‘just’ a case of the Titan being quite a firm piece of equipment and will become more pliable in time.

I haven’t had an implant yet but I’ve read enough to know that time is the name of the game.

Prof Ralph performed your surgery. No one is infallible but I have near 100% confidence you’ve been sized perfectly.

Give it time to all settle. And you’ll see him or his team soon.

Thanks defiant. I know its a slow process, but i read quite a few journals today and people were saying swelling was gone after 4 or 5 days etc etc and mine is still pretty chronic hence a mild panic. I think i had overly optimistic expectations and hopes for a rapid recovery.

I was totally inflated for 24hrs and i've been deflated since.

I have total faith in prof ralph and i'm sure he's done a perfect job and apart from the bruising and intense pain, i'm happy how it looks.

I have poor circulation and maybe this is what's slowing the healing process, my acute peyronies stage seemed to go on forever as well.

I've just contacted ralphs team and someone is going to ring me on monday and i'm going in for a post opp meeting with him next thursday.

At 6 days post op I was still doing nothing but laying on the couch it hurt so bad. My swelling and pain lasted for a couple months. The pain medication I was given did nothing but make me nauseous. Stronger pain meds caused constipation. For urination I always had to sit for the first few months so the walls didn't get covered. Doc left me 60% inflated until 5 1/2 weeks post op. Yes, that was tough dressing in anything. I found boxer briefs gave enough support without being too hard to wear. For nighttime I used satin boxers.
Hang in there, time will heal everything then you'll love it.

thanks for your answers guys. I honestly don't know how some people start cycling early on. Even if i push the pump around a bit it causes pain and swelling, the tubes from the pump seem a particular source of pain when i move around. My nuts are like a purple melon right now. How long does it take for the scrotum to calm down?

I'm also getting nerve twitches , i'm hoping this is a good sign of healing

I am thinking you are not deflated. With an 80 degree bend, My doc would keep you 80% pumped for 4 weeks. That is what he did to me.

i was going to be inflated but they changed their minds and deflated me until my visit next thursday. Its not the shaft that's causing the pain, its the pump which seems to be vying for position with my left testicle. it's higher than my testicle and pushes it down. Burning pain when walking about, fine when i'm lying down.

My entire shaft and scrotum burned like on fire. Ice, Ice, Ice. My pump attached itself to my left testicle for the first 4 weeks. It is all part of the healing. My pump sits kind of sideways above my left testicle with the bulb pointing right. Makes it real easy to get hold of. Peeing. I used a quart jar. Should have brought the urinal home from the hospital. I later got a Artificial Urinary Spintcher installed. Same pain all over again. Hang in there and be patient. When I was pumped up to straighten my bend, there was no way I could go to work or be out in public. Are you using a baby sock over it to keep anything from touching it? I would go through the roof if even my shirt touched it.

It took a few weeks for my two boys to learn to share space with their new friend. Still have issues if I sit wrong.
For your pain/soreness (if you are fully healed) try Aspercream. I used that a lot while I was healing. A small dab smeared around my shaft and sack kept me comfortable most of the day. And as oldbeek mentioned, a kids sock to cover the shaft will help lessen any irritation from clothes.
