Glans Engorgment Post-Implant

Postby defiant » Wed Oct 06, 2021 3:09 am

I’m once again very much considering the implant.

But you read a lot about glans engorgement.

Obviously we all want it.

So what determines whether you’ll have it post implant?

Leak or no leak? Overall health? Quality of surgeon? All of the above?

As I understand it, different blood supply serves the glans so many retain it after their operation.

I’d very much like to know the definitive answer to this question.

Thanks!
37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.

Just my two cents defiant.
As you have a long story of psychological ed I think you’d do a good thing getting an implant. Who cares if your ed is physical or psychological? We don’t live forever and we need to wake up in the morning and feel good and happy about living another day.
Concerning your question, the implant doesn’t impact your gland engorgement. Does if you have it now and you go for a good quality surgeon, you should be able to have it also after your implant surgery
26yo from Italy. Psychogenic ed since dec 2019, got worse in Jan 2021. On Cialis 5mg every 24hrs, it works! But masturbation and sex bring me a lot of anxiety. On talk-therapy.
Update: diagnosed with slight Peyronie’s, investigating more on that

Thanks for your input, brother.

It's just insane how impactful ED is upon your life and how it dictates virtually all your decisions and way of living.

You are definitely right. My ed (100% psychological) has ruined my life. Since it all started (2 years ago) it only got worse and my last year has been a nightmare. I cannot continue living in this way… if therapy won’t help when I’ll be 28 yo I’ll definitely go for the nuclear solution.

I asked my surgeon who I will be having mine with why some get engorgement and some don’t .
He said honestly we don’t know . It’s a seperate blood supply but some get it and some don’t .
He is the uk top implanter.

Which surgeon are you referring to, mate?

I can only achieve glans engorgement with the user of a ring. I didn't have glans engorgement before implant though, so I didn't expect any change.
I presumably have failure to retain rather than failure to fill.

Anyway, I'm 34,the implant is amazing, I'm 3 months post op.
It's sad reading you're stories, you're both young. I know what it's like all too well

Just get the implant, bite the bullet, things are unlikely to get better over time. I haven't read of people getting better, whether physiological or psychological,if problems have persisted for months.

I was so happy to read about your success, mate.

This chap in Scotland, how many per year does he do? He sounds pretty good! And you say you’ve regained all your normal length and girth. Superb!

This glans issue is a concern of course. If it doesn’t engorge, how badly does that affect things?

Does it make penetration impossible? Or just uncomfortable?

My issues are purely psychogenic but that may as well be physical, the end result’s the same. The impact on my psyche and wider life are the same.

One last thing, have you shagged yet?

I haven't shagged yet lol. I don't think there would be any issues though. I'm still going to gain more experience with pumping and the use of bands, but I'm sure I would manage fine enough.

Without glans engorgement things are much less sensitive, it can cause pain, it's less stimulating for her, doesn't look as good. I
I did have sex before implant, when I stop had cavernousal erection but not glans, before things got worse. It wasn't great, it was pretty Crap really. The ex even mentioned that the head no longer got bigger..... Thanks for that verbal kick in the balls, dear.

Mike fraser is a great surgeon and good man. I don't know how many he does, but high volume. Came recommended by other surgeons. Even the number 2 in Scotland didn't hide that he was more experienced. I don't know when he's retiring though, and all surgery is cancelled in Scotland due to restrictions. Bastards.his waiting list is silly.
There are lots of good surgeons on the UK. I waited an extra 3 years to be operated on by him. I'm glad I did, but I doubt he will be working in 3 years.
Not sure if it's realistic mate, sorry.

Can you get glans engorgement at all? What about a ring?

I think that if your surgeon sizes you properly penetration will never be difficult because the glans will always be supported by the tips of the implant.
May I ask you how you felt about sex when you were in a long term relationship? Did you feel anxious or did you get your confidence back?
