Not Happy Yet

Postby truckrglenn » Sun Nov 08, 2020 3:38 pm

Well Tuesday the 10th will be 5 weeks since my implant. Last Thursday was my first check up with the surgeon. I'm still slightly swollen and the Dr was not able to pump up my implant.

I'm still using ice throughout the day. I can feel the pump but not enough to tell if I'm touching the bulb or my nut.

I asked the Dr if he had to do any extra work, but he said no, just a straight forward implant.

Anyone else take this long for the swelling to go down?

I've read of a few members that had a longer recovery than others. Does your surgeon perform very many implants per year?
Best of luck to you.

I never really asked him. But the PL said that he's done quite a few.and she really praised his work over other surgeons in the area.

We are all different and heal at different speeds. So there is no set time schedule for this. You might ask your doctor about heat rather than Ice. I have read that for injuries to ice to begin with to slow the reaction to the injury and then to switch to heat to promote healing. Might be the ice is slowing down the healing. Maybe just stopping the ice will be enough but I am no doctor and this is just a question to ask your doctor. If your doctor says to keep icing then do so. No need to rush things. Some of us just take longer. Good luck going forward with this.

Relax, buddy. I had the same equipment installed as you and my swelling took more than 6 weeks to resolve. It was probably 8 weeks before walking didn't feel like when you first get off a horse and 3 months before I could sit at the dinner table without a pillow under my parts. I just passed 6 months post-op and now everything is awesome except for my inability to orgasm/ejaculate (but that's a story for another thread, of which there are currently two). I know how difficult it is to stay patient but try your best. Hang in there!!
Implanted 5/6/20 by Dr. Jesse Mills at UCLA; AMS 700 LGX 18 cm w/2 cm RTEs. I'm 76 & fit but had ED for 20 years. Pills/injections ultimately failed, including 3 ER trips for Priapism; Shockwave & embryonic stem cell therapies didn't help either.

I actually switched to a heating pad and would alternate. But I did not have complications. Did you Dr say if you could sit in a hot bath. That was magic for me.

Just a couple of thoughts.

Good luck

I'll send an email today and ask about using heat with or instead of ice pack.

Yes! My first implant took 8 weeks of recovery until post op check up, then another 3 or 4 until I felt comfortable enough to use.
