Tip pain

Postby Ardsee » Tue Oct 06, 2020 4:48 pm

New member. 60 year old, with three years of ED due to prostatectomy in 2017. Had my coloplast implant done on 9/03/20, about 5 weeks in. First few day were worse than I had anticipated, but I survived. I have had some Various pain the entire 5 weeks. Now to my question/problem. Starting yesterday I have had more pain in the tip of my penis, more so than any time before. Is this semi normal. Or has anyone else experienced this. It feels like the tip of my implant is pushing harder than before. I have not been cycling the pump yet, supposed go back next Friday to get instruction. I have been semi-erect since surgery, never thought I would complain about an erection. Sorry I rambled. Anyone have this type pain 5 weeks out?

Press the tip of your penis between thumb and forefinger and release. Your skin should appear white or whiteish and quickly return to a healthy pink color (you can do this on the underside of your forearm for comparison). That would indicate good blood flow (at least under the skin). If you don't have good blood flow at the end of your penis, call your surgeon IMMEDIATELY or get to an emergency room. You might be able to cure this yourself by deflating if you are able and willing to do that yourself.

I was left at 80% inflated (AMS LGX) and the day after surgery commented to my surgeon that it felt like the tip of my penis was caught in a vise. He deflated me a little and it felt better. I would not expect a new pain after 5 weeks to be due to an uncomfortable degree of inflation, but "who knows?".

If you have good blood flow, I would not be alarmed, but would call my surgeon and get him/her informed of this development at the first opportunity

once sutures closed, start using a VED pump. It really helped get rid of that tip pain, it'll help expand the tissues in your corpora so any stretching from the cylinders when pumped won't hurt after a while.

Oregonstrong, thanks, I’ll sure give the pump a try. That hasn’t even occurred to me.

Take the tip of your penis between your thumb and fore finger. then twist it back and forth. If there is any tissue adhesion it may free it and relieve the pain.
Hope this helps.

Based on my experience with my first implant, I was feeling tip and scrotal pain around various spots where the implant (or tubes) were placed during week #5, 6, and 7. Keep your doctor informed, but they may tell you that you're still healing even though other men are feeling pain free at this point in their recovery.
