Revision Expectations

Postby dcmusc » Mon May 04, 2020 4:33 pm

I was originally implanted in August 2017 with an LGX 700. A month ago, confirmed that it is leaking and I am scheduled for a revision/replacement on May 20th. If any of you have gone through this, what can I expect with regard to healing. Any chance this may go a bit smoother (though my recover was very fast in comparison to a lot of guys, used my new penis three weeks after surgery, full on sex four weeks after surgery).

Just looking to see what if anything will be different. I am going with a Titan with the legacy pump. Also, surgery will be infrapubic vs. parascrotal.

Thanks.
56. Implanted 8/23/17 by Dr. Kramer. AMS LGX 700 21cm + 2. Developed a leak. Revised to Titan 24cm 5/20/20 by Dr. McGraw in Las Vegas.

I had a pump revision 1 year after initial surgery that failed 4 months afterwards.

I go in for a full rig revision on June 9th.

Trying to eat healthy & exercise as much as possible to avoid any infection.

I’m switching from the Titan classic/Genesis pump to a One Touch.
Implanted by Dr. Hakky on August 6th, 2018 Coloplast 22 cm. Genesis pump failure 8/17/19. Revision 9/10/2019. Genesis pump failed 2/27/2020 while having sex. Second revision scheduled 4/7/2020 with new Titan One Touch pump instead of Genesis

Man, sorry you had to go all through that. Interesting in that they are putting the older pump in me instead of the one touch because of durability issues.

Is Dr. Kramer doing your revision? I was wondering if he was cleared to start operating again or not with the Covid-19 shutdown of non-emergency surgeries.

That's interesting to have the older style pump still an option on the Titan. Dr. Perito did a video two years ago stating that he preferred the old Genesis pump and valve since it never broke down like the newer ones do. Seems to be in stark contrast to Roofers experience.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

Unfortunately, I have moved from the Baltimore area so Dr. Kramer will not be doing the revision. Though I have consulted with him. Mr. new surgeon, Dr. Casey McGraw got his training with Perito and drawing the same conclusion as Perito suggested that we use the older pump. Were this my first go around, I might have had reservations, but since I know what to expect and since the Legacy pump is smaller (love that idea) I think it is the way to go.

Will be interesting to see, once they get the LGX out, what actually failed. It still works but the ability to get the cylinders as full as I used to continues to degrade.

The One Touch has a sticky deflate valve that has to be kept lubed/primed after each deflation. They say to give it one pump after deflation to keep it from ever sticking

Hakky said the Genesis/Classic had been failing a lot recently. He thinks the pumps manufacturing is skewed somehow.
