What is the chance that a woman encounters a man with implant ? (IE, are we one in a million?)

The final frontier. Deciding when, if and how.

I have tried to work it out for the UK.

roughly 800 implants per year in the UK as far as i can research.
average lifespan is 10 years = 800 x 10 = 8000

Say 25% die within these 10 years = 6000 Brits at any one time have an implant.

Rough UK population - 70,000,000 or which around 26,000,000 are males over 18.

So, roughly one in every 4,333 males 18+ in the uk might have an implant.
Or, one in every 11,666 total population of the uk.

800 implants a year seems low. I have no actual data to go on, just my gut feeling.

NHS data from 2016 showed between 450 and 500 people were implanted that year. So I have bumped it up a bit , it could be less than 800, it might be 1000.

In 2019, 31,000 were implanted world wide. Stats suggest 80% were from the US- so that leaves roughly 6,000 implantees outside of the US worldwide. 800 suddenly doesn’t seem that small a number!
Implanted by Mike Fraser in feb 2022 due to a 80 degree dorsal curvature. 18cm Titan - way undersized. 8’ pre Peyronies, 6’ pre implant - currently 6’.

Wow! We are a more exclusive brotherhood than I thought. Thanks for the clarification, jimmi85.

As in most things, a mixed response.

Happy for yourself and your partner(s)
Happy for those thousands of men with successful implants (and their partners)
Sad for those millions of men who cannot get erections by any other means who do not have access to (or knowledge of) implants (and their partners)
Happy for those hundreds of millions of men who can get erections (and, hopefully, their partners)

I think that about covers it?

I read a post here claiming that the Canadian Province of Ontario only funded 200 implants a year. (more thinking on that, it might of been 1200). Google tells me that the population there is around 14,750,000.
I only know of two implant surgeons in my state. They, total, install 200/300 implants a year. My states population is about 3,250,000.
At 80% of the installed implants & despite the high costs. Looks like if you have ED. USA is the place to have it at. I wish the best to everyone. ED is bad to have in any country.

Tangerine…….well said brother.
There’s no doubt in my mind that once a woman learns how to use the implant it’s all joy and smiles

"Guesstimates" for Italy is around 400-500 per year over a population of 59 millions. Many of which out of pocket and a significant percentage malleable or semirigid. If I'm not wrong France displays similar numbers, maybe 100-200 more. I can say it's rarely recommended, unless you over 60s, had RP nerve sparing, penis fractures or similar stuff. Usually insurances don't pay this kind of surgery.
I doubt you can find something FT outside US :) Maybe in China, they're almost two billions... LoL

I understand that the American healthcare system has its faults. A big one is that it can be expensive. But in the overall picture, my income taxes are very low compared to my wifes cousins that live in Europe. Also, I can control my prescription costs by buying generic meds. My cousins took home a lot of meds that can be bought cheaply over the counter here that require a prescription in their home country. Having said that. Many healthy young people just don't see the need for health insurance. I personally have always worked for employers that provided good health insurance at group rates for a reasonable cost.
But back to implants. In what you might call our national health insurance that is available at age 65. I think this years cost went up to about $170usd. On Medicare, my doctor visit co-pay went from $25 to zero. Implants are covered.
Hopefully, more countries will reconize the need for more implant coverage.

My private insurance, bought from the 2nd European insurer, can pay me up to 5 million and a half for a surgery worldwide but a shitty implant is excluded (like fertility treatment for women). Even "penile amputation" is included but sexual treatments are not. It's preatty common. In several countries it's the standard. Even my group insurance exclude impotence treatments. I can treat my eyes with a laser in case I want to get rid of my glasses but I have to go out of pocket surgery for my penis. Sexual problems could be a source of litigation and likely are a preexisting condition hard to detect. So insurers aren't in the business of saving your penis. There are some hospitals where you can get an implant for free. Just wait a little bit and don't be too choosy with the surgeon.
In my opinions men don't lobby enough for themselves about sexual problems. Women are better. The social and financial cost for untreated ED are quite high while the device cost is low.
