Titan Early Failure

I got my implant on Sept. 24. I had a severe congenital curvature with venous leak. I was able to get erections and stay hard unless I tried penetration. Trying to maneuver it into place (it was down and to the right) would make me lose some of the erection. I tried Viagra which seemed to work, but a couple of partners said it felt like I was getting losing my erection during penetration. So when I went for surgery to correct the curvature I acquiesced to the implant. Big mistake. My cock when flaccid has a sideways orientation (towards my right thigh) with the front part of the head facing the thigh. So it seems that to straighten the implant did most of the work. I was able to go straight out from my body with a slight turn and curve. So say 90% improvement. I also felt that I didn't lose much length but since the curve was so dramatic, hard to tell. When having sex, my cock was rock hard and stayed hard for as long as I wanted. So that part about implants is very true. I had a lot of pain due to the tubing and deflate portion of the mechanism "scraping" the walls of the scrotum. I found a way to reposition the device and was nearly pain free for almost 2 months. Everything was fine until last weekend. Friday I was able to inflate and deflate fine. Saturday, Sunday and last night, very little inflation possible. I am hoping it is just the deflate button in a lockout position (which is common for Titan) but worried that it might be more. Has anyone else had the Titan fail so early? I called my surgeon's office today and left a message but no return call. I am hoping they were just busy.

The implant itself was HIDEOUSLY expensive (nearly $32,000) and the surgery as well. Since the doctor did not correct the fact that my penis faces sideways, part of the cylinder on the left side bulges out (it is not covered by tissue except for skin of my penis). I cannot imagine my insurance paying for revision surgery this soon and frankly am afraid of losing length as well as having the same problems with the cylinder poking through and the device not postioned correctly again.

I would ask your doctor to take a look and wouldn't hesitate to call back today to get the appointment. Have they seen the bend and the bulge and explained if they think this is normal annd or likely to improve with time and repeated inflations once that is fixed? As to your insurance company there usually isn't any minimum time before they will pay for a revision. If you need a revision which is hopefully and most likely not the case they should pay if they covered the implant itself. Must be annoying and worrisome to have what you have described. Hope it gets resolved soon. Others that have the Titan may be able to walk you through a fix if the lockout issue is the problem though it sounds like you have already researched that. The bend and bulge should still have your doc's input though even if you can inflate again unless they have already seen them and given you reassurances. Let us know how it goes.

I have a Titan Touch Zero Degree. I had big time lockout problems right off the bat to the point where I couldn't cycle until after almost two months after surgery. First, the thing was so hard to squeeze (impossible, actually) that I had to go back to my urologist who gave it everything he had. After the second try (he credited his strong surgeon's hands) he was able to get a 'pop' and then it worked.

But then, I could pump it and pump it and it did NOTHING. My urologist was concerned and scheduled another appointment. I was worried that I might have to have another procedure. After a week of failure, I read here on this site that I should alternate between pushing the release button and pumping. Sometimes you can squeeze the penis after pushing the release button. Then squeeze it really hard and you'll feel the strange release sensation and it will pump up quickly. You may have to do this process more than once. At the beginning I did this as much as five times. It gets easier and easier as you cycle. I'm at six months now and it is FINALLY getting reliable and quite easy to pump. I never thought I would see the day where it is just as easy as you see in the videos but it does happen!

Thanks for your post. This makes me feel a bit hopeful. My surgeon's assistant called me back today and suggested exactly what you suggested. If it doesn't work, I am to come in and they will see exactly what is happening.

I am worried that since my penis hangs differently from most men, that somehow it was more vulnerable to breakage. And since I had to reposition it in my cavity to relieve the intense pain I was having, worry about that also.

I have to say that if indeed it is broken, I am not sure I would have it replaced. I'm afraid it would just be a repeat of what I experienced the past few months.

Just to let others know, if you have this happen to you, here is what my surgeon's assistant recommended. Press the release button and squeeze your cock (well, she probably didn't say cock) REAL hard to force all the air and saline out. Then try pumping. You may have to do this a few times. I did and it's working again.
