My Uro’s office called me today. My first injection visit had to be rescheduled because the Dr was ill. They have rescheduled my visit for this coming Monday at 4:15 in the afternoon. I asked if that’s a good idea, since I thought I would have to stick around until it wore off. The nurse said “Oh no, the Dr. will only explain to you how to do it. He doesn’t want to embarrass you.”

Is this normal? As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not sure how experienced he is in this area.

After the visit, I will definitely poll the audience on this site before I try what he prescribes to see if anyone thinks that he is way off on the dosage for a first attempt. The last thing I, or anyone else for that matter, need is to be heading the ER to get the main vein drained. Ugh!

my uro wrote the script first, then i got it filled and then brought it to that first appointment. that appointment was not a "I’m going to show you" it was the first injection to see how it would work and to show me how to inject. depending on the formula, i hope he starts you out low. mine wanted to do a full 30 unit injection. thank god i found this forum first and realized he was not as experienced in trimix injections. luckily i talked him down to 15 units and even that was a little too much. that first erection was over 4 hours but it was not painful in the least and went down on its own. i titrated on my own for find that 5-8 units works fine for me with my formula and have been using that amount for over 2 years now. he also did the appointment as the last one of the day so that if it worked i could just go home and use it, which the wife and I did. that first shot was a bit slow in showing in the office but i could tell it was working and continued to work on the car ride home and once at home it was a raging boner. i have not dealt with any other formula so i dont know what your doc will start you off at but, i would ask him to do that first injection and have you wait to see if it is really working for you. good luck.

I don't know but I hope it isn't normal. However, my original Uro just gave me a script for Edex and told me to read the package insert for instructions. So, it does happen that way.

Based on what I read, that is how most guys first experiences go. That is what I assumed would happen for me, but it appears the same thing happened to bldoink.

I just got the call from the Pharmacy that my prescription is ready. Here is the mix and prescribed first dose:

Trimix 25-18.75-.6 @ .05 ml, which is what we know on this site as 5 units, right?

How does that sound? I like the .05 ml. Seems very cautious, agreed?

I can pick it up anytime before the Dr.'s visit next Monday. My wife asked if I was going to go get it and give it a try..... That sounds encouraging that she is looking forward to it too! :D

Although, I'm anxious to get this going, I will probably wait.

Thanks for the quick replies.

i am not an expert on the formula to say whether its high or low but 5 units sounds like a good starting point. my formula is in my signature and when i first started 5 units lasted a good 3-4 hours when sex was only once a week. my usage has gone up to 3-4 times a week and a few 4, 5 and 6 days in a row and on the subsequent days, i go up one to 3 units to where it now lasts about 2 hours for sexual and it takes a over an hour or two more on the way down. it is still a bit inconsistent but no more than a few units. for me, when the vial is more empty than full and has seen months of use, the efficacy does go down a slight. if it works good for you, the wife is really going to enjoy it. that is the best part ever. lol

I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Anything I post is based on my own experiences at best and hallucinations or delusions at worst. Internet forum advice is usually worth what you paid for it, or worse. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Im my very non-professional opinion the script of your mix is of a relatively low strength. The dose suggested by your doctor is a low starting dose. In my non-medical, generally worthless opinion, the mix and dose prescribed by your doctor seems perfectly reasonable.

No need for disclaimers.

I just wanted to make sure someone wasn’t out there that looked at what the Dr prescribed and say…. ‘That’s way off’.

I guess I have lost confidence and trust in him. Many of you have been living with this for a long time and the Dr really hasn’t lived it at all. I could mention several things that makes me question his expertise, but that most obvious one is when he told me it might be a good idea to get a pump/VED. No warnings, no recommended routines of how long I should or shouldn’t use it or how often.

Oh well, he got my prostate out of me. And sure, I know I could find a different Dr, but why should I when I got you guys! :D

Thanks for your replies. Greatly appreciated!

Is your ED doctor and your prostate surgeon the same doctor? ED and surgery are two very different expertises and was curious based on your last post that he got your prostate out of you. If yes, you might want to call the compound pharmacy that mixed your Trimix and let them know you're looking for a good ED doctor and wondered who sends the most scripts to them. That's how I found my doctor and he's wonderful.

Wow! I never thought that they might be two different areas of expertise/specialization. I feel so stupid and uninformed through this whole process. Looking back, when my Uro said he was going to perform the RP surgery using robotics, I assumed it was some sort of AI thing that they setup and it precisely removes the prostate saving all the nerves totally hands off. I didn’t realize the Dr/surgeon uses joy sticks to instruct the robot what to do. I didn’t even think to ask how many, if any, had he performed before me. Ugh!

Obviously there is nothing I can do about it now. Who knows, maybe if a well experienced Dr would have performed the surgery, the result would have been the same. Damn I feel stupid!

My Urologist is my surgeon and ED doctor. That might explain why he has been so casual and short about the ED options.

I live in pretty much podunk Pennsylvania. In the big scheme of things, if you were able to rank Drs from the best in the country to the worst, one would have to believe the Drs in my area tend to fall on to the side of the spectrum of the worst. Why would the best live around here? Why do I live around here? I’ve asked myself that question many times. I guess because this is where I grew up.

Dang, I wish I knew about this site before my surgery.

Sorry for venting! I will take your advice and see if there are any ED Drs in the area or maybe just travel to one of the near by bigger cities. Unfortunately, I just left the compounding pharmacy this morning with my first vial of Trimix. I guess I could call them. They were very accommodating. (Timing is everything!)

Thanks for tip bro!
