Spontaneity

Postby otter17 » Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:22 pm

Anybody have any tips on how to maintain some spontaneity when using injections? For context I am married. Shots produce good erections but interrupt my flow if you know what I mean.
40 y/o straight married guy with supportive wife. Slowly progressive ED from venous leak since adolescence. Pills were a godsend for years, now as the efficacy fades, I am wading into the land of injections and implant

From my experience, if you have ED, then spontaneity is mostly gone but it’s not a bad thing at all. For us, we know exactly when we want it, when we plan it and nothing gets in our way. We have a certain “flow” as you say and shooting up is a part of that. With injections and the great erections, neither the wife or I have any issues saying this is when I want sex and we get it. Just my two cents.

 How long does it take you to get up, Prepare the Injection/spot, Inject, and get back to business?

You could have the syringe all prepared. So it should take no more time than nature's call to the bathroom.

I have to be honest though...
I used to fill the syringe and put the orange cap back on. Sometimes preparing the syringe several days in advance. Hoping to save time.
I stopped doing that after realizing I sometimes dulled the needle by putting the cap back on, which made the injection difficult to penetrate the penis.

I also now use the VED to produce a chubby before doing the injection. This adds about another minute to the routine. The upside is that I have not missed the corpora cavernosa and it makes for a much quicker erection.

A couple of other points, I would agree not being able to get an erection on demand (really) sucks and can break the flow.
However, having an erection that outlasts the sex act is pretty amazing.
And just getting the erection in fairly quick order that is reliable is equally amazing.

I don't think I've ever lost the erection with the injection, And if I ejaculate before I want I can continue until she's had enough.

Again I agree the spontaneity sucks, and on several occasions she lost interest. Leaving me with an unused erection for over an hour.
However, I have told her several times. Once I inject, the reliability is close to 100%.

And finally, I have (tried) to make it a habit to get her to agree we are going to have sex. Before doing the injection.
That way there are fewer surprises, Saying she's too tired, sore, or not feeling up to it emotionally or physically.

Agree that having a syringe ready to go helps separate the buzz-killing, clinical nature of preparing the dose from the beginning of the deed. But I have also noticed this can dull the needle if done too far in advance. Other than having a syringe ready I’m not sure pure spontaneity is possible. I usually end up playing the odds and will prepare a syringe in the morning if I think sex is likely that day. If it doesn’t happen the syringe can wait safely in the refrigerator until it does. I think spontaneity is one of the key drivers when brothers decide to go with an implant. Until then …….

Upon receiving a fresh bottle of Trimix, I will pre-fill several syringes, put them in a plastic bag with the date I filled them and place them in the freezer. As you say if I'm anticipating sex that day or evening, I will take a syringe out of the freezer and place it in the fridge. From experience having needles bending, I usually take out 2 syringes, 1 as a back-up. I've comes to terms with losing the spontaneity of intimacy years ago...things became much less anxiety ridden when I told my SO that I inject...I don't start thinking what she must be thinking with being 5 minutes or so in the bathroom prior to us having sex. I'm on blood thinners, so the time it takes me to adequately stop bleeding by applying pressure is longer than most of you guys...which just adds to the lack of spontaneity. But hey I'm just happy I can still get an erection and have pleasurable sex..
