Implant surgery without prior VED use

Postby Teeo9111 » Fri Sep 01, 2023 6:22 pm

I am 11 days away from implant surgery. During my tele-visit with Dr. Hakky he told me to buy a penis pump but did not give me any instruction on when to use it,because he didn't tell me what to do with it I assumed it was for post-op use,I now know that I was wrong. from reading this forum I know that Hakky suggests using it for 3-4 weeks prior to surgery. So my questions are with only 11 days left until surgery should I bother doing it and has anyone on this forum had implant surgery without using a penis pump. I don't want to reschedule my surgery as it has been rescheduled twice already and my schedule really doesn't allow for another delay but if it is truly significantly beneficial I will do what I have to do. I texted Hakky and asked him what I should do but he did not respond (yet).
66 years young. Mild Ed for three years, pills helped but not great and no way was I doing injections. Decided to go bionic before I got too damned old. Implanted by Dr. Hakky on 9-12-23 Coloplast Titan Touch 22cm + 1cm rte via Infrapubic.

When I got my Titan in 2008 Dr Kramer made no mention of VED. I have no idea if that had any effect on my result, but I had no complaints.

I wasn't made aware beforehand either.
I lost about an inch initially, but at about 3 months I was nearly back to OEM size.
I've continued cycling daily and I'm still gradually adding size.

If I were you, I'd use it daily until the day before surgery, and ask your doctor for advise on use afterwards.

Good luck with your journey.
Age 59. AMS 700 LGX 21cm + 2cm RTE.
Peniscrotal, 2/23.
6.25" OEM with Cialis, about 5" post-op. (11/01: Length 6.75" and girth is up to 4.75" mid shaft.) Still growing, albeit slowly. :D
Cycling daily. Hoping to get to 7". ;)

I’m not a doctor, but this advice from BigDave seems right to me. If it were my decision, I wouldn’t cancel the surgery. My doctor told me that use of a VED might help “a little” but he didn’t strongly recommend it. I opted not to use a VED, and with regular cycling, I have actually gained a little size over my best-ever measurement. Very pleased with the results.
Implanted 8/23/22. Coloplast Titan 20cm, no RTE’s, infrapubic. Married 40 years.

Benefits from using a VED prior to surgery are greatest early-on and get less and less as the patient continues. BIG gains early and diminishing gains as time goes on. So, by all means, start vacuuming your penis. A protocol of 60 days is usually mentioned in the medical literature. I continued mine for 14 months while I searched for authorization for the operation and to find a surgeon I trusted to do the job.

The protocol I favor is twice a day, apply vacuum to full erection and maintain that for 30 seconds, then release the vacuum to full flaccid (about another 20 seconds) and repeat that cycle for 30 minutes. Twice a day. If I were you, I might do it for 40 minutes and three times a day.

BE SURE not to overdo the amount of vacuum! If you induce edema, you will have to lay off the process until it goes down. If you tear tissue, you might compromise your entire situation. So, apply only enough vacuum to get your penis to full size or maybe a half-inch more that your pre-ED erection.
