Lubricant

Postby c0r5a38 » Sun Dec 18, 2016 3:42 pm

Is this the proper forum to discuss lubricants? This is not ED related by I'm fairly certain we all eventually need to make use of it. My issue is we (wife and I) have been using a specific (Vie Products) hypoallergenic gel which is no longer available. Everything else we've tried is unsatisfactory (dryness). I could attach a picture of the product if anyone can offer advice or just direct me to the correct forum. Thanks.

I've heard if you wouldn't eat it, don't use it. I use a little dab of Canola cooking oil and we haven't had any issues with it. Don't use too much cause it'll get too slick.

Check out coconut oil. You can find lots of stuff online about its use as a lubricant. Among other things, it's said to be anti-bacterial, and it won't harm toys.

The oil is a solid at room temperature, but it liquifies at 77 degrees. So there are two easy ways to use it:

1) Keep some at bedside in a wide-mouth, shallow jar (like your partner's cold cream might come in) with the oil broken into small flakes. A couple of them will liquify easily in your palm or hers — or in the vagina. This is my preferred form when traveling.

2) At home, I keep it at bedside in a small ceramic jar with a plunger finger pump. The jar sits on one of those coffee cup warmers that people often use on their desks. And the warmer is plugged into a little timer that warms the oil just before our typical bedtime, and warms it again around wake-up time in the morning. (If you do this one, you may need to work out a little spacer, such as a ceramic coaster, between the warming plate and the dispenser jar so that the oil doesn't get too hot.)

Have used the warmer setup for a couple of years. The warm oil is a special delight for both of us.

We use WET Light. Water based, nice and slippery, never sticky. Have a big pump bottle on my bedside table. Tried others, but this one is the best!

We did use coconut oil for awhile, but didn't figure out that it could be kept warm.
Tried coconut butter before that, but heard that wasn't for internal use.

Adam and Eve lube. Easy to get online and wife likes it better than anything else we've tried.

My girlfriend says, "Just because it's edible does not mean it is healthful for a vagina".

I defer to her prefènce in all things vaginal (and many other things as well).

I also found it very good. However, A&E charges $10 for shipping. I found Walmert's
Equate Personal liquid Lube equally as good for $5 for 5 oz.

Throughout the post-menopausal years we have tried many different lubes. Presently we are using 2 different silicone lubes. 1. Penchant Premium and 2. Uberlube.
Both are thin, watery, and silky feeling to the touch. A little goes a long way and neither dries out like water based lubes.
They may be somewhat more costly than some others but since we don't need as much to be effective both last quite a while before reordering.

I defer to my wife's preference as we all do and right now these 2 lead her list. Great results and no side effects.
Married 50+ years. Use VED for sex and do
daily exercises with both water and vacuum pumps.
