Testosterone worries?

Postby tomas1 » Thu Sep 18, 2014 12:53 pm

I'm getting a bit concerned about all the speculation about dangers of using it.
It really has helped my libido and strength, but I'm thinking about discontinuing it.
I won't miss all the hoops I have to jump through to keep getting the prescription refilled either.

I'm seeing my doc on Monday about low T. My last test came back at 130, and I feel really low and draggy. I'll explore the dangers, but from what I've read I'd gladly risk it if getting my T back up would help me feel better. Most of the dangers I've read about don't really disturb me too much - the risk is statistical, but the benefit could be tangible. If my numbers rise but I don't feel any different I won't continue with the therapy.

Dave, I felt better pretty soon after starting Testosterone therapy. It really jump started my libido and at the time I had really bad ED so it drove my wife and me crazy.
BTW, I am originally from Md, B-more, but left there in 1965.

I'm hoping to get some of the benefits I see other men talking about (more energy, enthusiasm, better mood, feeling of well being). Libido is a lost cause - I had a stroke that killed it and T isn't likely to have any effect. But 4 out of 5 wouldn't be bad!

I have been on "T" for close to years. Been through Androgel, Axiorn, local compounded.
Have discontinued usage. No improvement with any. My next is shots which I hear are
very effective. The other 3 barely raised me to 100. My co-pay on shots is $95.00.
May have to have weekly, bi-weekly or tri-weekly. With all the health issues this year
and cost I'm not sure if I will do a 4th option. Ron

I understand that if you inject yourself you only have to pay for the medication, which is quite inexpensive. Self- injection may be where I wind up also.

If you can get a doc to allow it, you can get a 6 months supply for around $60. I buy my own syringes. My former doc wouldn't allow it and charged $70 for 4 take homes with syringes.
$85 if I used any kind of card. Gee, I wonder what was going on there. I asked if it was the same for debit and they said yes. My $ probably went to the Xmas part fund.

4 pumps Androgel for 2 years has not helped libido. to discuss with doc in 10 days injections. wondering which injectible works best and improves libido. How well will it work to split doses to 2x a week instead of 1 to prevent the swings? I have swings bad with the Androgel. 4 days off and you can noticible see shrinking in biceps and strength drops by half. My body eats this stuff.
Thanks

I don't see any swings with 1x a week, but it would probably also work with 2x of 1/2 the prescription.
I have a chance to stock up on it, and wonder if I could freeze some just in case for future use?
