Postby DAVID 1 » Sun Jun 29, 2014 9:29 am

Hi All I have been on 10 mg of viagra for aver 14 months with little to no success. I get a softey but no morning wood like I used to. Some have said this could take up to two years to return is this the case because this is getting old. I can pump it up and have been using Trimix but nothing natural

Does a higher dose work better? I had good results with 25 mg for several years, then had to increase to 50 mg, but by then it had stopped working altogether. I think results are highly individual, and you can't predict how it's going to work for you.

Why do you have ED?

If you've had an RP, depending on how many nerves were damaged/removed, it may never come back much. They say that by two years (which is where I am) any nerve healing is pretty much done.
RP in 2012 because of prostate cancer. 100% ED, also some leakage problems.

Viagra works for 2/3 of the men who try it. You might just be in the 1/3 group for which it is not a solution.

All ED drugs are PDE5 inhibitors. The path from arousal to hardness goes something like this:
Stimulation > Nitric Oxide or NO > cGMP > PDE5 > partial recycling

Here is a more detailed graphic:
http://science.howstuffworks.com/viagra5.htm

I won't bore you with a long chemistry lesson. What's important is to notice how late in the chemical chain the PDE5 is happening! The problem is that PDE5 inhibition only extends the life of the cGMP. If your body does not create enough Nitric Oxide or cGMP in the first place then the Viagra won't help that much.

Feeding the NO engine is the other 1/2 of the puzzle.

NO = arginine + oxygen + NADPH (an enzyme)

Arginine you can supplement.
Oxygen = movement/exercise
Niacin is the N in NADPH... again, we can supplement this.

Hope that helps!
