Results with Testosterone Injections

Long time reader of the forum and love reading other experiences but wanted to get some feedback & opinions from others.

I've been injecting 0.25ml of Testosterone 3 days a week and 0.5ml of HcG twice a week for the past 8 months now and besides some mild to moderate chest acne, slightly more facial hair, and feeling more aggressive I'm not feeling the "explosive" libido & energy levels that I was especially T to magically provide me. On top of that both my legs from where I inject a total of 5 times a week are incredibly sore and causing moderate discomfort in standing & walking.

To be fair, the wife is pregnant and thus we are more sedentary than before and eating like garbage, can't ask the wife to diet & exercise while pregnant unless I want to be sleeping on the couch but that's not an excuse for why I couldn't try harder I'm just being honest with my own demons because there is no reason to sound fake on this forum. I'm naturally assuming that poor diet & exercise likely have a lot to play into this equation but I "feel" like there is more to it than just that.

Before I started T injections here were some related stats from my blood work...
Testosterone - 68
Free Testosterone - 6.3
Luteinizing Hormone - 3.6
Sex Hormone Binding Glob, Serum - 15.4
Estradiol, Sensitive - 14.6

And here were some updated figures approx 6 months after starting treatment...
Testosterone - 1,193
Free Testosterone - 31.8
Luteinizing Hormone - <0.3
Sex Hormone Binding Glob, Serum - 17.1
Estradiol, Sensitive - 80.5

I did start taking Anatrazol about 6 weeks ago on advice from the doctor to help lower the Estradiol, but haven't noticed any changes with that yet either.


Anyways, going from 68 to 1,193 T levels I "thought" that I would somehow feel like I was 18yrs old again with a ton of energy and a sex drive of a horny teenager trying to hump everything that moves, but the fact that Im just not feeling that is confusing to me if my expectations were incredibly wrong or if I should be looking for some other hidden problem?

Anyone had similar experiences after starting T for awhile? Or what were you experiences in comparison?

You and I are completely from different generations, but I inject once weekly in the buttocks, alternating sides.
I'd suggest injecting high in the buttocks to eliminate the muscle aches from injecting.

As far as results from injecting, I age 5 years when I don't inject and my libido crashes. I also believe I have more strength but maybe I've always been strong? I guess only the first part of my reply will be of use to you?

i inject 200 mgs every 14 days and every thing works great i have sex at least 5 times a week and i have been on t.r.t for the last 5 years and i am 68 i also use super tri mix and edex

The individuals response to TRT is varied. How one man responds to it can be quite different to another. This has much to do with HPTA shutdown and the loss of all the hormones that comprise sexual function, not just testosterone. Testosterone is just one component of this complex system. You are trying to correct some of this disruption with HCG, which works for some men, not all as it is not identical to our own gonadotropins.
Using the larger 23g needles will cause scarring in the muscles we inject into overtime. I use a 27g needle into my thigh twice a week. The body fat on my thigh is very thin and the much thinner and shorter 27g works very well and causes far less issues than the bigger needles.
I have posted a great deal on HRT for men on this forum, perhaps read some of my posts to gain some more insight into the pitfalls of TRT.

In relation to your comments on your general state of health and your diet, this will have a very large impact on how you feel on TRT. I would get this in order first before expecting drugs to provide you with “explosive libido & energy levels that I was expecting T to magically provide me” as you put it.
So many people think that it is testosterone that is solely responsible for these things. In reality it is a very large number of hormones and neurotransmitters working in concert with each other in just the right amounts for that individual to enable good sexual function.

That T level seems high. The fear, as I was told by my doc, is that too much T could raise your prostate troubles, such as cancer. It won't cause cancer, but can increase its severity. I think that's right, but I am no doctor, so take that lightly.
Anyway, I inject in my buttocks every 2 or 3 weeks. It raises my libido, etc., but does nothing for my ED. Trimix handles that part.

When I was diagnosed with PC, my doc recommended that I stop the T shots.
I felt 5 years older and had zero libido.
I restarted the shots because I didn't want to live life the way I felt.
The doc was understanding, but wants to increase the surveillance which we are doing.
The biopses are not fun and I don't like general anesthesia unless it can't be avoided.

I just had my T-level checked, and it was down to around 300, the low end of the "normal" range. So I will go back to every 2 weeks for injections, as it was around 600 a year ago. I believe the "normal" range is 300 to 900. You're red-lining it at 1,200....

I’ve been using a prescription testosterone gel for about 2 weeks now. What I have noticed:
- morning wood has returned. Some days better than others. Yesterday, I could have played baseball with it.
- general clarity of thought. I am thinking much more clearly.
- ejaculate volume has increased significantly. Tripled in my estimation. Orgasms are much more intense too.
- funny, soapy tAste in my mouth.

I’ll be interested to see how well his keeps up and whether I will see other long term effects.

Grunt, what were your numbers before getting the script? How is it applied? I see you use injections,, has it helped without using anything for erections? Thanks.

The two tests I had were right around 190.

Erections seem a bit stronger without using injections. Still getting great results from 40 units of tri mix. Very hard erection for about 90 mins.

For the testosterone, I’m using a 1.6% topical gel. Two pumps daily.

Lost a little weight too!
