AMS 700 CX NOT Working

Postby Drake1 » Thu Sep 26, 2019 4:42 pm

I have an AMS 700 CX, MS Pump, Pre-connect, IZ [REF: 72404232, LOT: 692113001, 18 cm X 12 mm] with a AMS 700 Reservoir, IZ [REF: 72404155, LOT: 707565018, 65 ml] that were installed on August 08, 2011. The Implant seamed to function correctly until July 7, 2019. I got a hold of my surgeon, completed an Ultrasound & a determination was made that there was no fluid in my implant. My surgeon determined that it was the pump & replaced the pump & the penile cylinders [8/15/19] but did NOT replace the reservoir. I finally was able to deflate the pump on 9/25/19. However, after pumping the new pump it appears that I am getting NO fluid in the cylinders again. The pump bulb is also very hard to squeeze.
What are your thoughts about this? Any suggestions? Do you think a new Implant is needed again (3rd time?)?
Thank you again for getting back to me regarding this GREAT CONCERN of mine.

Can you get another ultra-sound to see if there's fluid anywhere?

Determining if there is fluid in the system seems prudent. If the tubing to the reservoir or the reservoir itself leaks, that would explain the non-functiong. HOWEVER, the fact that the pump bulb is hard (and is it full and round?) suggests another explanation. A stuck valve. Forcibly cycling the valve and pump bulb should reveal that. Contact the manufacturer's Patient Liaison for advice on how to do that.

I have contacted AMS directly. They informed me the last time [pump prior to this one] that I could do a "hard" reset of the pump by squeezing the block of the pump opposite side of the release button and this would deflate the pump. I also attempted that with this pump & no prevail.
