Personnel Officer for The School Brigade at Ft Benning 1972-1974.

Executive Officer for Replacement Detachment 1974. CO 1974 to 1980. S1 Officer, Training Officer, Selective Service Officer for Alabama(yes, the Selective Service is still operational and is a very efficient operation).

Wish I had stayed active duty. Had no idea in 1974 that I would stay 22 years.

Hey Larry,

My prostate biopsy results were the same as yours. I'm 10 years younger than you but chose not to rush into surgery. So I'm in that watchful waiting class too. I've had three biopsies total -- one in the doctor's office (OUCH!) and two under complete anesthesia in the hospital. I also have very, very low-grade cancer and it isn't aggressive at all. Looks like I'll keep watching for a while. At your age you may never need the surgery as long as it doesn't get active.

My first biopsy, 5 years ago, was in the office...never again. First of all it is embarrassing being awake with the doctor and his nurse staring at your ass while the doc shoves that baseball bat up there. Also, every time he would take a sample, I could hear the ''shot'' like a B.B. gun...and every time, I would jump. Surprised he didn't rip out my colon AND my prostate with that needle.

My urologist told me he rarely does them in the office anymore because he can get a better sample while patient is under.

I had three biopsies total. All three were in the doctors office. He worked solo without a nurse present. Not horribly painful compared to some other stuff but it was unpleasant and seemed to last forever. I can thank of several more enjoyable activities.

I had hemorrhoid surgery a number of years ago. They put me under but not before they rolled me into an amphitheater type operating room ass up, moved me to the operating table and then proceeded to crank my bare ass up into the air. I could hear numerous people in the room but I chose not to look. They then put me totally under for surgery. I'd have much preferred they had put me under before they wheeled me into that room. Oh well! My modesty is long gone now. Fuck it!

Well, both my parents died from colon cancer and so I have had that hose shoved up my ass about 20 times. So I guess I have ''I have dropper my drawers and whipped my'' big ole azz for a bunch of folks too. The difference in the prostate procedure in the office and one in the OR and the colonoscopy is I wasn't awake with the last two....
