2nd bite of the Intro cherry

Postby Ray Johnson » Thu Jun 29, 2023 10:51 am

Probably not allowed a second intro message but, f*ck it, here goes:

First off I’ve found urologists in the uk pretty useless in diagnosing my complaint. Over a decade, I’ve had testosterone checks, Doppler, blood tests; they’ve all had a poke around in my breadbox, these doctors, and found nothing wrong. One professional, I shit you not, suggested it might be something in the tap-water causing my problem, at which point you just wanna butt the desk in despair.

Now, it seems clear to me, what with my Willy being able to jump up only to go limp again, that I’ve probably got some sort of venous leak thing going on; my situation certainly accords with some of the experiences I’ve read on Franktalk.

So, here’s how it is: pills work fine, have done for a decade. But the shame, pain and indignity of my condition never subsides. Now, looking forward, there may well come a time when injections and even implants become a necessity. And here we come to the crux of the matter: I would be delighted if cock rings worked for the old venous leak. My reluctance to use em thus far stems from a fear that the rings might compound and develop the leak rather than act as a (temporary) quick-fix for it.

I’d love to know what your experiences of cock rings with venous leak are like and any other short-term fixes short of needles and implants you would advocate. I know there’s a specific cock ring thread but figure I’ll get more prompt replies in the Intros folder.

Without wishing to end histrionically, I’ve pondered suicide a lot but have a child I adore, a partner I’m pretty fond of, and a pretty solid social and family circle. So suicide is out and I’ve just gotta muddle through as best I can.

You say pills work fine; if that is the case then you are totally good as you are. Stick with the pills. I would not try the cock ring if the pills are working well, like you said they can make the venous leak worse in the long run.

Yeah, I think in many cases this ED doctor stuff is barely science. Sometimes it seems more akin to simple guesswork, sorcery or alchemy.

I don't really consider myself to suffer from venous leak, at least not to any serious degree. My ED corresponded closely to my RRP (prostatectomy). Not to say I was super stud before surgery, I wasn't. I would at times have some concentration issues and lose, or start to lose my erection without more stimulation. I've never even remotely suffered from PE. In fact I've always taken what would be considered by many as too long. I considered my erection status or ED as what was probably within the "normal" range. Not perfect by any stretch bur normal and adequate. Was some venous leak involved? Well maybe.

Novelty/sex shop Cock Rings and Medical Grade Constriction Rings are, in the larger sense the same thing I guess but I personally put them into different categories as they are designed for different uses, mostly.

A medical grade constriction ring is generally used to stop the outflow of blood from your dick as much as possible. For the more extreme cases some guys will use 2 rings together to further stop blood outflow. I suppose overuse or abuse of these rings could possibly cause some damage. I just don't know. I think in most cases if you find it necessary to go to that extreme, there's a good chance you don't have much to lose. I may be an exception as Injections work pretty well for me. However, I get no natural erection and almost no response with pills. I can use a VED to pump up to a nice VED erection but then I require a very tight medical grade ring to hold it and may even have to repump later.

The novelty/sex shop cock rings aren't usually designed to provide the level of constriction the the medical grade rings are, although I have seen a few exceptions. The novelty rings can be designed to provide just humorous entertainment. Some are designed to enhance the visual prominence of the package. But many are designed to to provide some sexual boost or enhancement. Some that hold your balls down are advertised as delaying orgasm. Others are designed to enhance stimulation. Others, the ones I usually use, provide a modest amount of constriction to slow blood outflow but not stop it, thereby enabling extended wear. They are the ones that may help with a mild venous leak. You can also use rings hoping for a combination of results. That's always a bonus in my book. Depending on your level of ED or leak, you could try some novelty rings alone, without pills. More likely you'll find the rings are a good enhancement to the pills.

I don't think the majority of novelty/sex shop cock rings will cause any harm if used within reason. People being people I'm sure someone can find a way to cause damage with some. Plus the huge variety of novelty rings available tells me there is probably some rings out there that should be avoided. They aren't really regulated in any manner.

I may or may not fit within your desired population of respondents. I specifically use novelty rings to provide some constriction to slow outflow. I don't wear rings so tight that they ever cause cold dick syndrome or make my dick darken. I also like that the rings do tend to pull on the ligaments causing my dick to lift and seem more prominent. They seem to help to prolong my erection, make it appear more prominent and enhance the sensation.

I also usually use an additional ring or I use a combo ring to package the boys. This has no direct effect on the erection other than what is gained from enhancing the general experience. The wife likes the boys packaged and I've grown to like it too. Personally I don't want the boys held down for orgasm delay or a ball ring that's at all too tight. But whatever, that's getting into a different topic.

Let me unprofessionally and to some degree unsympathetically address the suicide ideation you referenced. My humble opinion is that your ED, as you described it, falls into the category of aggravating or frustrating but not far outside the normal range. If you can get it done most times with pills you're just not that bad off. You're certainly well short of having ED worthy of suicide ideation. If that's where you're at you have some mental health issues that need addressing, and fairly promptly at that.

Now if still interested go check out the Cock Ring thread.

Good luck.
