Another New Guy

Postby Terry1094 » Wed Dec 12, 2012 1:55 pm

Hi all,
Terry here. 57 year old from Long Island NY. First hint of ED about 12-13 years ago, it would come and go. Tried Viagara, Cialis, et al. Went to a seminar in NYC by Dr Eid (urologicalcare.com) went through the whole process, then got scared and let it go. Got my ass in gear this past spring and was scheduled to have the implants done in April. Unfortunately, I ended up having triple by-pass and a valve replacement done on an emergency basis. I was rescheduled for the operation on October31, but Superstorm Sandy closed NYC for a few days. Rescheduled for this past Monday and I wass in and out of the hospital in 6 hours.
The procedure was done at Lenox Hil Hospital, could not have been happier with the staff there. Two days post op now, some swelling, a bit of pain and discomfort, but thats what they make drugs for!
I am looking forward to a Happy Valentines dayin 2013 as I figure 6 weeks puts me at the end of January. I've done tons of reading and looking at different forums as to what I can expect.
Does anyone know of a blog/forum directed to spuses of implant patients? Wife is a bit curious, and was not crazy about me having this done. IN the bacck oif her head she thinks it is her, and not me. Tried explaining that a few heart attacks, borderline diabetes and 40 years of smoking casued it. SHe is very passionate and i am so looking forward to having the great sex we once did.
Just happy to be here in a spot where other guys understand.

Terry

Welcome to FrankTalk Terry !!! This is a super place to get answers of ANY kind about implants, recovery, and all that goes along with it. I have not reached the implant stage, and so far I have been injecting trimix, but there are a lot of guys with the implant who, i know, will be happy to discuss all the attributes of them.
Here is wishing you well in your upcoming adventure!!

Bill,

I am just now 5 weeks post implant and I totally pleased with my results. Better yet, so is my wife! As far as I know there isn't a site for the spouses of ED sufferers, but this site will do. The wives occassionally post here and more read the posts.

Other than you having to pump up before and then lasting untlil you deflate, your wife should notice very little difference. Small change in shape from nearly round to more oval and maybe but not for certain a little shorter. Quite possibly a fair amount harder to go with it.

Though this is not recommended!!! My wife and I jumped the gun on my urologist and started using the implant to its intended purpose at three and a half weeks. She loves it, I love it and the loving is great. She should enjoy things.

As reinforcement, it isn't her fault! It isn't your fault! It is how your body decided to be, men's bodies have a will of their own when it comes to sex.

Good luck and joyous times.

Hi Terry,

Welcome. There are others here who used Dr Eid, and if you use the search, or better, the advanced search, for Eid, you can find them. But, perhaps you know that already.

I too don't know of any wives forum, though a number of guys have reported on their wives reactions. Again, maybe searching the implant forum for wife might get you some comments. Then, here is one from another patient's of Dr Eid.

Welcome to FT Terry.
First, congratulations on your new Penile Implant.
I underwent the Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Procedure December 13, 2007 after developing ED Post-Prostatectomy in 2004. The Implant completely corrected my ED and restored my sex life and the emotional bond with my wife of 45 years.
Tomorrow marks the Fifth Anniversary of my Titan Implant Procedure.
My wife and I both love it and have enjoyed it to the fullest for the past 5 years.
I wish the same for you and your wife --- a lifetime of enjoyment with your new Implant.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy Holiday Season.

Bob

And wld be glad to give u my e-mail or #........and tell ur wife not to worry bout the past.things will start looking up soon.

Thank you all for your warm welcomes!! Going back to Dr Eid next Thursday to have the stitches removed. I figure it will still be 4 weeks or more after that before I get to test the new apparatus. Its a bit sore now, walking around with a half erection, but well worth it down the road! Told friends and family that I had a cyst removed from a "delicate" spot and it seems to work as an excuse. Thanks again, talk soon.
