Considering an implant

Postby JeffMcDanielMD » Sat Dec 17, 2022 7:06 pm

61 year old experiencing some degree of ED for 5 to 10 years handled well with pills then just over 2 1/2 years ago developed Perroni’s disease initially with pain now with a 60° curve. The pills can help someone with an erection, but I have decreased blood flow distal to the curve so things there or just not as firm and sex is difficult because the penis falls back on itself.
Initially went for Xiaflex, but not covered and was concerned about the fact that there’s only a 60% chance of a decrease in the curve of 30% which would still leave me at 40% like mini on the site of experience loss of length and girth as well as a pretty big emotional toll. Thankfully, my wife is very understanding, but we’ve been married 11 years and sex is always been excellent between us until the last 2 1/2 years. I went to see Dr. Hakky for the first time someone mentioned an implant and I am trying to do my due diligence, very hopeful, that finally after years, there is some hope that I could find something that would actually work, not afraid of surgery just don’t want to rush into anything. Any thoughts from people who have suffered this combination of problems specifically on which implant to get I have only had one appointment with the doctor the rep gave me this website and I’m very glad to be here. .

Welcome to the forum doctor!

I didn't have Perroni's, but I had my surgery at 77 years old, 3 months ago. The surgery and recovery went perfectly, and the implant works really well, my wife says she can't tell the difference.

Just read as much as you can here, when you have questions use the search feature, chances are your question will be answered, but don't be afraid to post your questions either, Frank Talk is an amazing group of guys all eager to help.

Best of luck, I think you are headed in the right direction.
Used Viagra & Cialis until lost vision in one eye due to AION, therefore can never use pills again, then tri-mix 1 1/2 years until unreliable. Implanted 9/20/22 at 77 years old by Dr. Yafi, UC Irvine. Married 55 years wife 76. 20cm Coloplast Titan.
