Re: Implant is done

Great night of uninterrupted sleep last night. Only slightly sore today 2 days from surgery which is amazing to me. Dr Kramer has been great answering a couple of emailed questions from me. Minimal bruising and minimal swelling so far but following orders to not be up a lot. Riding home to NH right ...

Implant is done (one year anniversary 04/29/16)

Had the implant yesterday and so far better than I thought. Laying around today before drive home tomorrow to try to prevent swelling per Dr Kramer's orders. No where near the time to advise others to go for it yet but if things continue to progress this way very hopeful. No swelling so far and mini...

Re: About to take the plunge

Made it through surgery and back at hotel late this aftenoon. Had pain meds in postop but only a Tylenol since. Catheter in overnight and will remove in Am but no biggy so far. Now on to the healing process. Weird to be sharing lobby space with automatic weapons and watching the police pile out of v...

Re: About to take the plunge

Surgery in AM. A little nervous about the procedure but also all the National Guard presence here in Baltimore. Hoping everyone in the affected neighborhoods stays safe.

Re: Getting close to surgery date

6 days to go before my surgery. Aside from the anxiety of no turning back if not a good outcome (every surgeon has those occasionally) still looking for any advice as to what to do post op. I'm sure Dr Kramer will have advice but looking for real world experiences that seemed to work. Ice? Bedrest? ...

Re: Surgury Scheduled

Same here Mike. I think it is a sign of intelligence to worry but at the same time decide to do something to fix an important problem that for years has been relegated to an oh well get over it at least you dont have a terminal disease category. This site has been very helpful to hear so many succes...

Re: About to take the plunge

I think physicians who have had anxieties around being a patient can empathize and respond better to their patient's concerns. You are not alone in assuming that physicians are universally comfortable being on the receiving rather than giving end of the healthcare role. I was in for my preop exam at...

Getting close to surgery date

Starting to get excited and anxious as my planned implant date is under 3 weeks away. Dr Kramer will be doing surgery on a Wednesday and I plan to stay in Baltimore for two nights then drive back to New England which is about 8-9 hours depending on stops. I would love to hear any words of wisdom or ...

About to take the plunge

New to this forum but appreciate all the converstaions and experiences shared. I am 59, married 33 years, an internal medicine physician and have suffered with ED issues since adolescence. I suspect, as does my urologist, that I had nerve injury with a severe bike accident at 7. In that it happened ...
