Since most men that get an implant have had a prostatectomy.
Usually the reason for the implant.
I think it would be good to have a section about prostatectomy experiences.
People could share the psa levels and Gleason scores and the outcome of surgeries or radiation treatments.

Re: Prostatectomy
In 2009 I had radiation treatments for prostate cancer. Shortly thereafter, trimix quit working and I started using a VED.
My gleason score is still .03 (no signs of cancer). Now I'm very happily implanted!

Re: Prostatectomy
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in October of 2003 at the age of 50. The PSA number was low, 1.68 but it had doubled from the previous year. The digital exam indicated some problem and it was enlarged. The needle biopsy found 3 of 8 samples with cancer cells. A bone scan found no issues.
Surgery was performed in January 2004. The gland contained cancer cells but adjacent tissue and lymph nodes taken in surgery were clean. PSA tests ever since have been "0.0"
Various Meds have been taken with succes but I hate the " hangover". I now use a VED.
I will admit that orgasms are different, some can be very intense! BUT, I psychologically miss ejaculation. I apologize if this sounds crude but I miss shooting my load into my wife.
I have never considered an implant. If my wife was high drive I might consider one.

I agree. A board Index of just prostatectomy would be a great idea. Natural / age related ED and therapies are unique and different when brought about by prostatectomy.

Re: Prostatectomy
10/ 08 I had open radical surgery.
Dr never did penile rehab, I pushed him all the way.
All he wanted to do was implant. Insurance said no way.
So I did the pills, ved, then injections. EdEx. That is still kind of working. But not great.
At some point I will do an implant. Such a big decision.
Oh the good thing is my PSA has been zero after surgery and continues that way.

Re: Prostatectomy
Your idea is a good idea, obviously.
I had prostate surgery at 47 - diagnosed at 45.
I had found many sites about the PCa experience where I could ask any question about surgery, incontinence, etc. I noticed questions about sex and ED were not handled well at all. First, I often saw remarks like "There are daughters and wives here, we don't need to see talk about penises!"
I also totally understood that some men who were dying did not want to hear healthy men complaining about a limp dick. It's all a matter of perspective.
So, that is why I started Franktalk.org. After i started it, one of the big doctors at Mt. Sinai told me that ED was way bigger than PCa and I needed to open it up to all men. So I did - and boy, was he right!
We then became a 501c3 with the IRS and we have a mission statement now that has to guide all of our decisions. I completely understand the desire to talk about prostatectomies. But the truth is there are other great sites that are doing a great job at this. For example, www.healingwell.com is a great site. Also, www.ustoo.org has good support. But since we are a 501c3 we need to stay true to our mission and that means that adding PCa discussion (while it totally gives men ED) would not be in line with what we say we are about.
So, I would really encourage you to get involved on those boards since they are designed for the PCa journey. Franktalk needs to remain totally true to its mission of ED.
