As icing appears to be the MOST critical component of post-op care to manage pain and swelling, I’m looking for ALL recommendations on reliable, travel-ready portable ice machines for penile implant recovery.
Please also share your valuable tips and tricks for icing.
Happy icing and joining the bionic brotherhood.

No costly devices are needed.
A gallon sized ziplock freezer bag filled with ice is all you need. When much of the ice has thawed, dump that out and refill with more ice.
If you have a long (hours long) flight, there is ice on the plane. The stewards will give you the ice you need. If you have an hours long car ride, a cooler in the car with a bag of ice will let you replenish your ice pack.
A ziplock bag full of ice is more effective (colder) than any fancy device that circulates chilled water through a pad. Your penis is going to be wrapped and swaddled with gauze. A COLD ice pack is good to get the effect through all that gauze.
Old school is best. Keep it simple.

A pillow case to protect your exposed skin.
Baggy pants are must.
I had a couple bags of popcorn buried in ice. My surgery was 400 miles from home and worked for me.
The popcorn I put in bags that allows just enough movement to be able to wrap around bandage, and have full coverage.
A tip I keep forgetting to mention for preop prep.
A week before surgery shave your belly and pubic hair. Notice “a week”! You do Not want to go into the hospital with any razor burns, nicks, or dings.
I always have my balls shaved and rest of pubic hair trimmed down as keeping hair trimmend down is more comfortable for the wife. Even though it feels good when the hair tickles her nose and she starts shaking her head but keeping it trimmed keeps her head in the game for mush longer periods of time.
