How does the pump work?
How does the pump work? Is it difficult to press? How many thrusts are needed for an erection? How does it release?
57 years old, living in Germany, ED since 2004, Levitra in high doses still works.
I sometimes use an Osbon pump and two D-rings during sex.

Re: How does the pump work?
Mine is generally about 15 pumps. If I've mistakenly done a few short pumps then I might go a couple of more.

Re: How does the pump work?
Chris1967, most have a squeeze bulb that when compressed, moves saline from a reservoir into the cylinders to achieve erection. Different IPP's are a little different. Mine takes 20-25 pumps and can be done in less than a minute if I'm in a hurry, and discretely if you need to. Also most have a deflate button that allows saline to move the opposite direction for a normal flaccid appearance.
At first I thought the pump, and pumping, was a big deal. At 7+ months post-op, I've found pumping is quick and easy.

Re: How does the pump work?
Hello,
Although pumping feels awkward the first few times, it quickly becomes natural.
How many pumps and how long that takes depends on what I’m doing. For example, if I’m going to masturbate I’ve found that just a few pumps (5 or 6) is enough to give me the rigidity needed. Oral doesn’t require a super rigid cock either and is sometimes more comfortable if the penis has some flex to it. But if I’m going to initiate penetrating sex then I usually pump up to max. It can be done in less than a minute. It’s difficult to count the number of pumps because as the implant gets stiffer I’m usually doing partial pumps.
When I was considering implant I met with an implanted guy to see it. We talked about his experience with it and then he took it out, showed me how he pumps and deflates and let me squeeze the pump and feel the difference between the flaccid and inflated state. It was a very clinical, non-sexual discussion and demonstration. It was VERY helpful. It gave me the confidence to move forward with implant. I searched “Germany” in the implant category and there were over 500 hits. So there are probably implanted men living near you that may be willing to talk more and might do a show and tell with you. If you are unable to find someone to meet in-person, many of us would be willing to demonstrate over video.
Your signature mentions that VED and rings work well for you. If pumping up with a VED and applying constriction rings give you a satisfactory result, consider if that might be enough.
For example: if you are consistently having sex with a partner(s) that know of your ED and that you use a VED to get erect. If you usually have sex at home, so you don’t need to carry a VED around to have sex at others homes. And if your sex sessions finish before the ring needs to come off to allow blood flow to the penis. If all of those are true I would stick with VED. It is doing what an implant would do (provide rigidity) without having a surgery and the risks involved.
But if VED isn’t convenient or working well then pursue other options including implant.
I’m 6 months post op and absolutely love my implant. It’s incredible to be able to function again.
