5 months
Well, it’s been 5 months since my operation. I still have a numb dick and I am still not able to have an orgasm by any means. It’s as if that part of me is hopelessly broken. I am plunging into a deep depression. I can’t sleep any more. I exist in a constant state of orgasm denial. Believe it or not, it is painful … both mentally and physically. I was told to get this operation because “what do you have to loose?” Having had regular orgasms by oral sex prior to surgery, I now know. This is so much worse than ED I can’t even tell you. Every day I wait for some sign that the numbness is subsiding and every day I am crushed to learn that nothing is changing. I’m loosing all hope. I know that most men do well with this procedure and I’m happy for that. But those considering doing this need to be warned that there is another possible outcome. I am considering breaking it off with my girlfriend because sex just leads to more misery for me.

Don't give up on it so soon. It took me awhile to have my first orgasm. Concentrate and enjoy pleasing your girlfriend during this healing time. Your nerves and feeling will return at some point. Remember we are getting older and things sometime change as a result.

I’m feeling for you, granted I know I’m pretty new here, but I’ve read many post about the feeling and sensations coming more frequently as implant heals.
Have you had your testosterone checked?
I do know that if your depression over this is obsessive that it will definitely magnify and make it even more difficult to achieve orgasm.
You’re 69 and have a girlfriend, so I’m assuming she is mature enough to know that healing takes time. I’d say be obsessed with making her feel good and enjoy that aspect while your figuring this out.
Dont let your depression win!

Re: 5 months
I had 3 surgeries in 12 months . 1st implant .. 6-2023 ..Rigicon ..then 30 days later thought I had an infection split me back open from t0 to bottom .. 12 month later implant failed due to being undersized ..so new one put in 6-2024 .. It took me about 6 or 7 months before i had my first climax .. and it got better and better as time went on ..at least you have a g/f to have sex with I have a sex less relationship so all my pleasure is self pleasure so have no clue if I can climax any other way .. give it time don't give up .. things have changed you put your body through a lot give it time ..as we age things don't have as much sensitivity .. quit trying to compare before to afterwards ..
Rigicon since 6-2023 happy to share my experience and do show and tell

As I understand it; it can take a year or more for nerves to regenerate. Another consideration may
be the pelvic floor; which can be effected by stress.
Good luck

i don't what your issue is ,but maybe try anti-inflammatory meds if that's what's
causing the issue ?
But i shared before , that myself at the time ,i was 63 ,no implant and had a filipina visit me for 3 weeks or so . and i wanted to enjoy sex with her as much as possible .
Me ,knowing that when i banged her , it would probably be a need for more cialis and who knows how long in-between i would have to wait ?
so when i did bang her , i held off on my own orgasms ,just so i could watch her "in the throes of ecstasy" which i enjoy seeing
when she noticed after a while ,i wasn't "finishing " so i then would cum just to make her feel good ,but cut it off , so i would stay in the mood . i actually had to back off on the more than 1 daily rounds and give her a break .
but my point is . Personally , i think you should enjoy watching your girlfriend enjoying you ,until you get your numbness sorted out .
And isn't it better to be able to get hard and use it ,than not being able to use it at all ?
for me ,i would say a big ol YES!
hang in there bud .

Re: 5 months
im 36 and 4 weeks after the surgery i had sex with the dread that i wasnt going to be able to orgasm. Since the top half of my dick was numb from doing the infrapubic approach. BUT i was able to orgasm actually really quickly even with the numbness. But in the process i went through the absolute worst pain of my life after orgasm with my pelvic floor muscles. Literally wanted to off myself that's how bad the pain was. And to be able to orgasm and know that the pain was going to come was the absolute worst.
hang in there, it will come back!

during surgery some small nerves are cut and so it sometimes can take up for a year or more for them to recover and bring back the sensitivity.
You need to be patient and while you just wait, make the best of it, fuck your girl and make her great orgasms what should also make you happy and love the situation to be able to finally satisfy your girl and don't care about not being able to orgasm yourself.
Let go for now and forget your orgasms for a while, it will all come back, meanwhile enjoy sex!

Re: 5 months
This forum used to say that 1 year to fully recover was not unusual. It even can take 1 1/2 years on rare occasions. To become depressed at your perceived slow recovery just isn't realistic.
If you had any peyronies or fibrosis that required work. I think at 5 months you're not doing too bad. I didn't have any mitigating issues & the difference at the 1 year mark was significant.

Wishing you the best, Osprey. GT makes a great point about the 1–1.5 year recovery timeline. Because recovery is a biological phenomenon, we all land at different points on the bell curve. Thank you for your honesty and transparency in sharing your story. Please keep us posted.
