Malleable installed two days ago

Postby THE_Borg » Sat Jun 21, 2025 9:31 am

I had an account here, but can't recover it after repacing my phone. I am 2 days post implant of my malleable Coloplast Gensis.

Pain: Very manageable. The pain is a dull ache and the glands is tender. The most pain came from a shaving rash which has mostly cleared up.

Bruising: Minimal bruising on each side of my penis.

Appearance: Lenght seems about the same. Girth appears as if I have had a slight loss, but I have never measured my girth. When I first saw my penis, the head was twisted 90° to the right. I believe it was just the way they bandaged me and the catheter pulling it to the right. I am experiencing pain from the incision today gor the first time I was comfortable after surgery because they had me numb. Yesterday my rash hurt so bad I couldn't feel the pain roman being sliced open.

I didn't get all the numbers about the device as the doctor talked to my wife and I while I was coming out of anesthesia. All I know is that he used an 11mm and I the it was the 17-28mm lenght, but no Idea where he cut it.

The reason i went with a malleable are stomach wall placement. I have had two kidney transplants and could need another in my lifetime. The old kidneys all stay in place, even the transplants that no longer work. I am at greater risk from infection than the general population. Three piece inflatables seem to require more revision and would increase the risk of infection.

Anyway, I am well on my way to becoming a true cyborg. At the present I have man made lenses from cataracts, a ICD(pacemaker/defibrillator), an Inspire device for sleep apnea, to kidneys from cadavers, and now my penile prosthetic.

Has anyone else ever got an implant to keep from rolling out of bed?

If you have questions, let me know. I will try to update this as I heal and begin to use it.

Congratulations on the malleable, and welcome to the Genesis Gang. It sounds like you made a well-reasoned decision. Wishing you a very speedy and unadventurous recovery!

As someone with sleep apnea due to a badly deviated septum and the neck of a bodybuilder (18"), I'm curious about the Inspire implant. How's that treating you? I do fine with CPAP, but am curious about your experience!

The inspire device was decided on because I cannot tolerate the cpap. My inspire device was about 6 weeks ago. And activated about two weeks ago. I do notice the device itself as it protudes a bit above the right chest. Surgery was easier than many procedures I've had.

I have been able to sleep with it every night since it was activated. There has been two nights where I woke in the middle of the night and turned it off because I was having a hard time sleeping (unrelated to the device). I would describe the feeling of the pulses it sends as be8ng light a switch of a muscle in your throat. For the first week it felt like a sore throat which would make me hesitate to swallow. After the pulses start, I stop noticing it after 10-15 minutes. I believe I am sleeping better than I have in the past. If you have insurance and issues with cpap, I would look into getting it.

I failed to mention that the Inspire and the Coloplast Genesis were paid for by the Veterans Administration and done through community care.

Had a couple autocorrecting that messed me up. I should have said it feels like a light twitch of a muscle in the neck

Congratulations THE_Borg! Welcome to the Malleable club and the Genesis Gang. HAHA! Love this Duke!

Unlike the Hyundai Genesis models, our 2004 Genesis is in its 21th year of production (really 26th year as it was inherited from Mentor Acu-form (1998-2003)), with just one little upgrade by Coloplast - the hydrophilic coating. Who knows, we may be the last generation before its extinction!
40, 1/25 - Coloplast Genesis malleable by Dr. Christine.

To uncircumcised considering MPP:
Subcoronal approach --> high risk of post-op paraphimosis and lifelong preputial edema. Recommend discussing penoscrotal approach.

The_Borg, Welcome to the Bionic Brotherhood :!: Resistance is futile :!:

You've went through a lot brother, I'm glad you're still hanging in there. I'm a fellow veteran, but I didn't want to use the VA for my implant, I went with TriCare Prime and had mine done at Brooke Army Medical Center, the largest military hospital.
I'm retired Air Force.

Enjoy your new Bionic Borg Dick when you get healed up,
