My surgery is coming up soon and I was wondering if anyone can direct me to a good thread about post-operative supports...things like supportive wear, urinary canisters, ice-bags etc

Get yourself some antibacterial hand soap, too — just as a precaution. Wash your hands religiously. Clean your bedsheets thoroughly before the procedure. Have a fridge full of healthy food. Bottles of water or a big jug of filtered water is a must. Keep electrolytes handy. Also make sure your fridge is deep-cleaned. Avoid exposure to bacteria in general. Have your tub/shower professionally cleaned. These are things I did and I find they helped.

Also, take your antibiotics exactly as prescribed!

Large bags of frozen peas the best way to keep ice on your sore package during the first few days. Much better choice than the expensive “soft” ice packs I also tried

Separatec dual pouch underwear. Essential support for your scrotum and a separate soft place for you now more substantial flaccid, and sore penis. These made a significant difference for me.

I ordered several large containers of Lysol 99% antiseptic wipes and spray. Wiped all surfaces in the house like door handles, bathroom surfaces, car, fridge, appliance handles, chairs, anything that your hands touch and can transport bacteria.

Also sprayed all rooms and bathrooms actively used for several days, starting 2 days before surgery and for first 10 days after.

Threw all garments, especially undergarments, nightwear, bed sheets, towels in the washing machine/dryer after one day use, for 15 days after surgery.

Stayed away from crowds, and masked during the few trips to stores. Wiped shopping cart handles. Avoided being outdoors to reduce the risk of pollen or other allergens. Took 14 day antibiotic course prescribed by surgeon.

I had zero infection.
